Masahiro and his wife Nana are absolute fantastic hosts. We stayed in total for three nights in different rooms, and the couple felt like family by the time we said goodbye. We said farewell with the packed breakfast meals and two cups of our favourite coffee. The guesthouse is named after the parents who started the coffee shop, and it was their house. I would recommend at the very lease a two night stay to explore Koyasan properly, but three nights were just right for us.

The staff were incredible. They were very accomadating & helpful, always willing to go the extra mile & explained all the information perfectly. The food was amazing & the room and surroundings were breath taking. I really loved being able to be a part of the morning ritual. You don't need to be religious to feel connected to the ceremony & the deep heritage in Koyasan.

A really beautiful property with stunning views of the surrounding rice fields and orchards. The blossom was in full bloom, is was so peaceful. I'd love to stay again. The parking is further down the hill as the driveway is hard to access for visitors (if you aren't used to the very steep roads and sharp corners). The owner met us in the carpark as it was raining and drove us to the door :)

It’s definitely a place for people who want to live a true cultural experience and observe the daily routine of monks. Everyone is extremely kind, but be sure to have a translator ready-even though they do their best, their English is a bit limited for full conversations. The dinner is huge, so make sure you arrive hungry-there’s plenty of space to enjoy all the delicious vegetarian dishes. The onsen was absolutely perfect. I recommend arriving right at check-in time to fully experience the place, especially since check-out is very early. If you plan to visit in winter, be prepared...it’s really cold. The rooms have heating, but the corridors, bathrooms, and common areas are freezing. You can also participate in meditation and a fire ritual for free. I recommend this place for a one-night stay.
