I was surprised to find out that the Hotel has its own Onsen, which guests can use for free! The Onsen facility is good, with lots of amendments in the male facility. It was a great experience! The breakfast facility is also free.

Amazing history and gardens. Rooms were enormous, with open views of the beach and with a cedar bathtub fed by hot springs in the room.

I had a lovely stay at Tamonkan, to top off a great week travelling beautiful Tohoku. The hosts were so kind (including letting me use the shower after I’d checked out and been soaked climbing Mt Haguro!). The food was delicious and affordable, and the accommodation clean and comfortable. I’d highly recommend Tamonkan to anyone wanting to visit Dewa Sanzan. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a lovely stay at Hagurokan. Excellent Japanese hospitality- we felt very welcomed and cared for. The ryokan itself is beautiful, and the traditional meals were so good. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!
