Set 0.9 mi from Sekenani Health Center in Keekorok, Mama Safi Guest House is a self-catering accommodations featuring free WiFi access and free private parking. I had a lovely time at Mama Safi! This little gem is located in the Mara hills with a wonderful view of the mountain. Hasad, his son, David and the remaining staff were so much fun, warm and hospitable, they were like old friends! Hasad picked me up from the Serena airstrip, where he provided a picnic lunch right for me on the Mara. It was wonderful! The room is basic but very clean, roomy with a huge and comfortable bed, a hot shower, private bathroom with mosquito lamps provided. Everything is run by a solar generator. What I loved was being in nature. You can hear some of the animals at night , and waking up to a beautiful sunrise in the mountain was perfect! I bought my own food, while the chef Hatochi prepared wonderful solo and group meals that I thoroughly enjoyed. The Masai staff were all so kind and very attentive to what ever you needed. They can even provide a walking tour to the local Masai village down the hill from the guesthouse. David, our Masai guide, was warm, and a fantastic animal tracker with Erik as the awesome driver (the terrain in the Mara is very rocky) They were a fun, lively, personable and great duo to have on the safari while they tracked the animals together. They are very knowledgeable about the Mara and have great instincts about were to find animals. We were able to find elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, two lioness and her cubs, hippos, ostrich, gazelles, impalas, buffalo, baboons, hyenas, eagles and the start of the wildebeast migration back to Tanzania. Erik in addition helped barter for a lovely Masai necklace for me that I just love! I booked everything with Hasads partner Kelley and she was great in answering my questions and providing information. Compared to the other lodges that I looked at, I am so happy I chose Mama Safi! I had an excellent safari and experience thanks to Hasad and the crew!
Set in Keekorok, 1.1 mi from Sekenani Shop, Oldarpoi Mara Camp offers a restaurant, mountain views and free WiFi. Some units have a seating area and/or a patio. Convenient to the Masai Mara without having to stay in the park (with extra park fees included). The staff was helpful and though things were very basic, it was completely satisfactory for our one night stay. A Masai village is nearby and we went through it on the way out of the accommodation. We should have stopped as it was very authentic and the people wanted to show us their lifestyle.
Set at the source of Sekenani River in Masai Mara National Reserve, Sekenani Camp offers an authentic bush experience. This tented camp has well designed tents, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. Great and helpful staff. Food was excellent. Great value.
Located 2.5 mi from the Sekenani Main Gate, AA Lodge Maasai Mara is 10 minutes' drive away from Siana Springs Air strip and 1-hour flight away from Nairobi. the rooms were Great, spacious and nicke but the Rest of the lodge is Breaking down. Broken Furniture and pavements, etc.
Make sure you drive to the Mara River, the Mara Triangle as that whole drive gives better chances of seeing all the animals. Take Miriam's MASSAGE! The HIPPOS at the Hippo Point as they come out in the evening...amazing!
