Holiday Inn & Suites Alpensia Pyeongchang Suites is located at the foot of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics ski slopes. This hotel is located on the slopes and our room was above the ski house which is where the food court is located and where ski rentals and lessons can be purchased. The major plus is that the bed was comfortable with a soft mattress. Also, by showing my key card at the lift ticket counter, I was able to get a big discount on lift tickets. Food is not an issue. There are several restaurants on the resort and at least 3 convenience stores.

Fantastic skiing slopes close by the hotel/resort location of Phoenix. Good and sufficient outdoor and indoor parking availability. A CU convenient shop in the hotel makes is easy to buy some small food or other necessities. The room view is excellent and a small terras allows some fresh airing. or cloth drying when needed. Sufficient ski equipment rental is available at hand, no need to bring anything. Renting and ticketing (RFID) is easy and convenient. Prices are reasonable for a whole day and evening skiing fun.
Good to experience Hanwoo beef, cheaper than and very good quality. Best to visit maybe January to experience lots of snow. Quiet place good for relaxing but be ready for expensive cab rides, not too accessible
Beautiful area, no wonder was selected to host the Winter Olympics. Surprisingly, not very high mountains, only up to about 1500's meters, but very cold. Even in late December, they had (man-made, of course) snow. Tubing was also fun to do. A small animal farm with sheep and alpacas. Easy access by bus or train from Seoul.
We stayed at alpensia. Excellentfor novice skiers. About 6 or 7 short runs. There was a dedicated toboggan area with its own escalator. Price was good. We got 20 or 30 % discount for staying at the local hotel. For the evening skiiing we paid around 260000 for 6 people for ski hire and lift tickets for 4 hours- amazing!
They must change or greatly improve the shuttle service between the train station and the hotel. Otherwise, the foreign travelers will be unable to go there. Totally mismanaged and disorganized shuttle bus company is a very serious problem to the Hotel and foreign guests.
PC has lots of attractive place. Mountain has a clean air. I have been to BBQ restaurant, it has too much delicious Korean beef. I also have been to sea side to enjoy raw fish of Korean style. Amazing!!!
First of all the location is excellent. it is right at the Top of the mountain and about 50 minutes drive, you are able to enjoy one of the best Korea Seas Gangneun. The hotel environment is really good full of nature site and fresh air. the view is great too. Food wise is also really good cause around that hotel you can find good food like chicken and my favourite Korean BBQ Beef(it is a must to go) Room is clean and comfy. the bed is excellent. if possible please book the villa!

Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
We loved the location, close to a few different ski areas. The staff were helpful, although English-speaking staff is limited. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of room for our family of six. We appreciated the discounts on skiing activities by staying at the hotel.
The vicinity to the Phoenix ski resort and slopes is ideal. The premised - Blue House - did some upgrade on the reception with adding a ski lounge and has a inhouse bakery and pharmacy. The view on the slopes from the room balcony is nice and worth the hotel choice.
