Holiday Inn & Suites Alpensia Pyeongchang Suites is located at the foot of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics ski slopes. This hotel is located on the slopes and our room was above the ski house which is where the food court is located and where ski rentals and lessons can be purchased. The major plus is that the bed was comfortable with a soft mattress. Also, by showing my key card at the lift ticket counter, I was able to get a big discount on lift tickets. Food is not an issue. There are several restaurants on the resort and at least 3 convenience stores.

Fantastic skiing slopes close by the hotel/resort location of Phoenix. Good and sufficient outdoor and indoor parking availability. A CU convenient shop in the hotel makes is easy to buy some small food or other necessities. The room view is excellent and a small terras allows some fresh airing. or cloth drying when needed. Sufficient ski equipment rental is available at hand, no need to bring anything. Renting and ticketing (RFID) is easy and convenient. Prices are reasonable for a whole day and evening skiing fun.
Good to experience Hanwoo beef, cheaper than and very good quality. Best to visit maybe January to experience lots of snow. Quiet place good for relaxing but be ready for expensive cab rides, not too accessible
Beautiful area, no wonder was selected to host the Winter Olympics. Surprisingly, not very high mountains, only up to about 1500's meters, but very cold. Even in late December, they had (man-made, of course) snow. Tubing was also fun to do. A small animal farm with sheep and alpacas. Easy access by bus or train from Seoul.
We stayed at alpensia. Excellentfor novice skiers. About 6 or 7 short runs. There was a dedicated toboggan area with its own escalator. Price was good. We got 20 or 30 % discount for staying at the local hotel. For the evening skiiing we paid around 260000 for 6 people for ski hire and lift tickets for 4 hours- amazing!
They must change or greatly improve the shuttle service between the train station and the hotel. Otherwise, the foreign travelers will be unable to go there. Totally mismanaged and disorganized shuttle bus company is a very serious problem to the Hotel and foreign guests.
PC has lots of attractive place. Mountain has a clean air. I have been to BBQ restaurant, it has too much delicious Korean beef. I also have been to sea side to enjoy raw fish of Korean style. Amazing!!!
Bongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
The location of the cabin is fantastic. It has beautiful views. The cabin was cleaned and comfortable for my family. It is close to the Phoenix park and other tourist attractions. The host was vey nice and promptly response to my messages. The cabin is equipped with a kitchen and rice cooker. We were able to make our breakfast and late snacks. It is quiet and nice area to go for a hike and enjoy the nature. The owner is super nice and had a English speaker interpreter for us. He told us about the tour attractions in the area.
We visited the location/resort for the second time. This time we choose the bigger room for more spacy comfort as we planned to do some skiing and were heavily packed with ski clothing and equipment. The room decoration and comfort were similar as last time, need an upgrade on decoration and modernization of the available equipment and furniture. The vicinity of the ski slopes is unmatched and the view on the slopes spectacular.
Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang
The perfect fall getaway to escape busy city life. It's surrounded by trees and hill/mountain views. There are beautiful plants, sweet funny cats, and a sweet dog. Everything is peaceful and the cabins are private and cozy. The hiking in Odaesan is fantastic. You need to drive, get a ride, or get a taxi to get to the hiking trails or to get to restaurants. It's worth it to sleep in such a lovely, peaceful place. :)
Very near to ski slopes and lifts. The nearest in fact of all accommodation options offered. May be a bit on the older side compared to the rest but best value in terms of cost and proximity. Totally functional layout and amenities in room. No dental kit is provided though. Bring your own!
Room was nice and clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Shout out to the worker down at the restaurants - always made good conversation and never hesitated in saying hi around the hotel! Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
The part that paid attention to the landscaping, the food court on the resort street, the performance facilities and experience entertainment, and the part that had a small water park was good.
Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
Great value for money. The most comfortable hotel bed ever. CU and other restaurants are walking distance.
Bongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
