We stayed at Royal Lion Hotel during our trip to Kandy and had a great experience! The rooms were spacious and clean—just wow! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and gave us a perfect start to the day. The staff were very nice, friendly, and always ready to help. It's also just a short drive to Kandy, making it a convenient stop. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and enjoyable stay

An absolute highlight during our trip to Sri Lanka - beautifully redone colonial estate with amazing indoor and outdoor areas (including a large pool - great for swimming laps or just enjoying the panoramic views across the hills and jungle). Super nice owners and staff - loved also the dinner! Overall cannot recommend The Flame Tree Estate enough - an absolute gem!

Manor House is a real treasure in Kandy, Sri Lanka. A perfect blend of British, Dutch and Sri Lanky architecture. This historical house, built in 1884, was once owned by ministers family — and now by the wonderful Chitra and Kumar. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a palace — yet everything was made with such warmth and soul that we immediately felt at home. The service was outstanding, with incredible attention to detail from the staff. We were honored to stay in the oldest authentic room and enjoy a fantastic traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with the owners in their beautiful garden full of trees and flowers. Location is bit away from a major town, but ideal for a nature getaway. Contact the owner for property details and navigation details, he's SUPER helpful. Food was great. Nice pool and the surrounding is also good. Provided us everything we asked for. Place is clean and neat. Value for money. And the privacy is great and ideal for a couple. You could also walk to a small town spot to enjoy the views and have some local food.

A super beautiful property with a flower garden, spring fed pool, abundant fruit and spice trees and a big yard. The rooms were super comfy and quiet and the food was the most delicious food we had in Sri Lanka! The Caretaker Ratne was an absolute gem! He helped us with anything we needed and even gave us some Sinhalese language lessons. We had the best time spending time with him, learning Carrom and playing badminton. It was truly one of our favorite homestays. We felt like family and we were sad to leave.
