GALLE FORT is great for a one day visit. The town is small and some shops are repetitive, with the same items for sale, but there are a few unique shops and restaurants which make a visit worthwhile. Sunsets are beautiful; walk along the top of fort walls. Take a tuk tuk to the local fish market just outside of town for vibrant local life and walk back. This Building is 400 years Old and in all our Travels of 30 years we have never lived in such a Colonial Building. The staff compliments the story behind this Colonial Masterpiece and they were Excellent. Service, Quality, Food and Drinks. It was a very Personalized experience living here because the hotel only has 11 rooms. We booked the Suite which was very spacious, Comfortable and Beautiful.

It's a 5 minute walk to pretty much anywhere in Galle Fort from the guesthouse but it's not noisy. Breakfast, served on the balcony, is a choice of the usual eggs, fruit and toast, with juice and tea/coffee. Or you can pre-order Sri Lankan breakfast which we did on day 2 and it was great! Hoppers and eggs with daal, sweet and sour fried onion and chilli sambol. Delicious!
