We had the best time at Warwick Gardens. It's a beautiful piece of gem tucked away inside the mountains. It's filled with history , colonial charm and quintessential Sri Lankan vibe. Viji is an amazing host. He made us feel absolutely at home from the moment we landed until we left.

Very comfortable room. Perfect location on the Pekoe trail which we were walking. Buffet style dinner with lots of options. Attentive and friendly staff. Very interesting building. Wonderful views. At over 2000m it is a perfect temperature.

We had a lovely stay at Goatfell, 2 nights. The food and drinks were wonderful, and the room was comfort plus. The property is very quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to do the walk from the property thru the tea plantations.

Fabulous view from the balcony (see the photos). Lovely, helpful staff (although not much English, and I don't speak Sinhala...). Big, clean room, hot shower. Good (and cheap) dinner. At the end of Stage 18 of The Pekoe Trail, about 2km out of town. No wi-fi, but decent mobile reception. Sitting on the balcony watching the views was great

Pekoe Calm Retreat was sensational! Wonderfully located just 1km from Lunuwatta on the Pekoe Trail (stage 19). We thoroughly recommend for anyone hiking the trail. Our hosts were adorable. Nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted with freshly squeezed orange juice (the oranges being from their extensive garden). Dinner and breakfast was delicious, some of the best food we have eaten in Sri Lanka. And we were given fresh fruit to take with us the next day. Our room was immaculate and so comfortable. Communication was excellent via WhatsApp (our hosts have engaged a friend who manages it for them). A fabulous experience overall!

We loved to stay here! The views are beyond amazing and it’s definitely worth it to do the little extra mile to get here during the pekoe trail. Dinner and breakfast were home cooked and really really good. You basically have your own little tiny house that you stay in, so you have all you need right there. We felt really welcomed by the family and immediately had a good & comfy feeling. If you do the Pekoe Trail ➔ it’s a must to stay here! After a long day of hiking it was the perfect reward, watching the sunset from the balcony!!

We stayed with Meena Amma for three short days, and wished we had longer. Meena’s hospitality is note perfect, and her traditional Sri Lankan meals the best we have enjoyed in our time on the island. The setting of the two line rooms is stunning, from the beautiful sunrises to the peaceful evenings in the valley. Thank you Meena for your warmth, effort, care and culinary brilliance - we won’t forget it!
