The family is so sweet and will look after you like their own. Even if there's a language barrier, it doesn't matter because you can feel how welcoming they are. The daughter is very smart and speaks good English, but you can use Google Translate when she isn't around. The room is simple, but comfortable, private, and safe. You have everything you need - comfy bed, fan, shower (cold water only), toilet, sink, and even chairs outside on the porch. The highlight was the food! The mom will cook you delicious meals. Some of the best rice and curry and kottu I've had in my 6 weeks in Sri Lanka! Easy access for jungle hiking trails and local village from here.

Wow! What an amazing place, what an amazing experience. First of all, thanks to all the staff members. They are extremely friendly and helpful young guys and definitely made my stay better. The hotel is much more beautiful than the pictures, I was really really impressed. My room was perfect, very stylish, big and comfortable. I had A/C and a fan, a refrigerator, selection of tea and coffee, bottled water. It's a dreamy place and I loved it. Food is also amazing. I had packed breakfast everyday and it was really good and I was out in the forest all day so did not have lunch. But the dinners, oh my god. Fantastic food, amazing ambience. I can not recommend this place enough. I'm definitely going back and probably staying longer than my previous 4 day visit.

Great views of the Rain Forest. Right on the edge with a river valley so you could see the pristine forest on the other side. The owner, Chanaka, Is an incredible guide. Without him I may only have seen 3 or 4 animals out of the 17 we saw. Amazing cluster of wildlife in an incredible rain forest. I've been to many renowned rain forests and not seen this density of wildlife.

Situated near the Sinharaja rain forest & surrounded by abundant nature, Sinharaja Riverside is the perfect place to relax your body & calm your mind. You wake up every morning & go to sleep at night hearing the sounds of insects & birds. Everything is built from nature! The meals I ate were exceptional! Akila, who is the chef puts his heart into everything he cooks. He was even kind to let me help in the kitchen & teach me about the fresh ingredients he uses. You will have a beautiful view while eating, & you’ll even be able to see peacocks & mongoose! The staff are so genuinely nice, friendly, & funny! They take the time to help you & are so knowledgeable about everything! Overall, I highly recommend this place :)
