Very friendly and helpful staff. The waiting staff and the food and beverages managers were very helpful and friendly. All hotel staff were friendly and welcoming including the hotel manager. The butler (Todlee) helped with the luggage when we arrived and when we left. The hotel has a lot of walking room and the outside beach area was clean and well maintained.

The place was very neat and clean. We stayed a room near pool area and it was a bit noisy due to the crowded pool on the weekend. Room and bathroom is big and clean, equipped with kettle and tea/coffee. The hotel has an inhouse bar with local and foreign liquor therefore, you can order beer, wine on a reasonable rate. Note that there is no minibar in the room. Ice is available on request from the bar. Hotel has its own generator and you don’t have to worry about power cuts. Specially I have to mention the excellent service of the hotel manager who is very kind and concerned about the customer satisfaction.

A short distance from Colombo, Katutura is ideal for a long weekend if you are based in Colombo. There are plenty of things to see in the area and you can always arrange a visit to Galle through your hotel.
Just the right location. Not too far from Colombo but has the nice secluded feel, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Close to a lot of places to visit - Kalutara temple, Bentota for water sports, Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Overall, a great place to be in!!
The area is quite, and not far from water sports activities. The problem is that there are no decent restaurants or coffees near by. You are opted to only eat at the hotel, unless you are adventurous. You are better off to go a bit more south or north and close to the capital to find reasonable restaurants and coffees etc. If you like to each and just stay within the resort then you will be OK as hotels in the area offer everything you need.
Kalutara is a great place for a short stay. While it is not as crowded with tourists and activities when compared with her neighbouring districts Colombo and Galle, it is quite special in it's own simplicity. The sights generally known to see are few and are quite close too each other. A day to sightsee and enjoy the city, a day to enjoy the hotel and it's facilities and a day for the beach and surrounding neighbourhood is in my opinion the ideal way to plan a trip to Kalutara. The best place you must visit in my opinion is Jeoffrey Bava's garden. The place is great to walk around, take some beautiful photos and run around a little.
A bad experience considering the cost. They should have closed it down during the extensive building. We should have been told as soon as we arrived that it would be better to transfer to the Anatara. Never again
Staff response was excellent - not many hotels (the world over!) include fresh coconut water as part of breakfast- although we knew that when we asked for some the staff delighted us by providing us fresh coconut water the following day - that made breakfast super!
