Our stay at this charming riad in the Atlas Mountains was nothing short of spectacular. Hosted by the warm and welcoming Rachid and Bouchra, they provided an authentic and memorable Moroccan experience. From the moment we arrived, Rachid and Bouchra made us feel like part of their family. Their hospitality was genuine, and they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The riad itself was beautifully decorated, blending traditional Berber design with modern amenities. Our room was cozy and offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious home-cooked meals prepared for breakfast and dinner. Every dish was a delightful exploration of traditional flavors, we thoroughly enjoyed! The serene environment of the riad, coupled with the heartfelt hospitality of Rachid, Bouchra and the rest of the family made our stay truly special. We left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for their culture. We highly recommend this riad to anyone looking for an authentic and enriching experience in the Atlas Mountains. Thank you, Rachid and Bouchra, for an unforgettable stay. We look forward to returning one day! Warm regards, Maryam, Ramaize & the kids!

Hiba Lodge, hotel in Imlil

Providing river views, Hiba Lodge in Imlil features accommodation, a garden and a shared lounge. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

The accommodation is incredibly clean. We stayed here before and after our 6 day trek in the Atlas Mountains. The staff were lovely and looked after our suitcase. The room and bed was super comfortable. There was a large rooftop terrace and even a sweet private balcony to enjoy the surrounding mountains. We enjoyed a traditional evening meal here (starter, main, desert) for 15€ per person. Imlil is only a 7 minute drive away.

What , I like the most is the location of this place the Valley is surrounded by tiny villages located it on the cliffs of the mountains therefore we pick Arghare Village , the views where spectacular! Also the decor in the place amazing 🤩!! We had a small vehicle 🚗, my husband drove up it was a bit challenging , just take your time is part of the journey:) Said came right away and meet us. To make it easier. The next day I walk to the main village Imlil , cascades , like 25 minutes walk , everyone is nice 😊

Best place to plan to climb Jebel Toubkal (4160 m) – Morocco’s and North Africa’s highest mountain. Not only Toubkal but many other day trips and hikes can take place from Imlil including visiting Berber villages, with guides who can be hired locally with many different types of trips to meet your needs, horse, donkey or bicycle its all on offer. Note no local ATM machines so take enough cash or be prepared for a short trip to Ansi. Wherever you travel the views are inspiring.

excellent hideaway from the heat of Marrakesh.

excellent hideaway from the heat of Marrakesh. Zarathustra restaurant cooked us a fantastic dinner, for the right price. We has a look to their rooms, and other that there was no air-con at the time, the style, price and size were very nice. Some of the rooms had shared bathroom. We did not find good restaurants in Imlil other than the above, though we did not check other hotels and riads. there are some local restaurants that were ok, very local....

Even if you aren’t planning to hike Toubkal, I would 100% suggest Imlil for a quiet weekend to get away from the bustle and bustle of Marrakech. In my two trips to Morocco, I’ve visited Imlil three times, once for a day, once for several days on my second trip just to relax with no plans of hiking Toubkal, and then I returned with friends to hike Toubkal. My experience with the people of Imlil is that they are genuinely welcoming and kindhearted, not just pretending to be because you’re a tourist with money, as I’ve experienced in other cities. The prices of things are also typically better than in Marrakech overall, although they are still geared towards tourists. Despite being a few different settlements, Imlil is a small village where everyone knows each other and is happy to help you find what you’re looking for. There are plenty of guides for a day hike or for hiking Toubkal, and whatever lodging you stay at can usually help you find someone to guide you. Overall, Imlil is my favorite place in Morocco, and coming here feels like returning home.

This guesthouse is located high up the hill in Armed. From the terrace you have a wonderful view on the Toubkal mountain range and the river valley and lower parts of the Armed village below. We received a very warm welcome by Rachid and his father, and the tajine we had for dinner was the best during our whole trip in Morocco! Tip: contact Rachid before arrival, as the guesthouse is somewhat hard to find in the narrow Armed streets.

Dar Amadine is run by a lovely family that is always there to help you. The father is a tour guide and knows every small corner of the Atlas Mountains and also of Morocco in general. We got sick and that gave us a very hard time although the family was there, looked after us, and even went to the pharmecy to get medication for us. It was an amazing experience and we are greatly thankful for them.

I can't talk about location as we were brought here after a hike and picked up the next day, but we really enjoyed our stay as the hotel has a wonderful view from the side of the valley all the way over Imlil. My friend and I had a double room each and both had balconies. The staff were helpful. Great value for money.
