Marrakech is a living city, specially in the city center. Great markets, good weather and very friendly people. Favorite places: Jamaa el Fna Square, Bahia palace and Jardin Secret. Where did you eat: Cappuccino Maroc (Good breakfast and diner) Extrablatt (Good breakfast and diner) Seven Marrakech (Hookah and good food) Transport: From the airport take the bus, it will go directly to the city center for 3 euro per person. The bus departs from the parking lot. If you go by taxi, it will be around 10 euro and on unusual times 15 euro. In the city horseride and taxi (Make sure to make a price before getting in). Most things are in walking distance, but its very crowded and crossing streets is not always easy, wich will slow you down. Avoid: Jamaa el Fna Square is full of scammers. They have snakes or monkeys and they will force you to take a picture with it. Then they will overprice you for it. This is a very common scam and if you are not aware, they will use it against you. Instead if you want a picture with a monkey or something, make a price before hand, and if they want more, just walk off.
Great atmosphere and people very helpful. The parks are very clean and tranquil. Crossing roads is a nightmare. Lots of beautiful roof top bars and restaurants but many do not have a lifts so lots and lots of stairs. The Medina is a must.
The place is impressive with a very rich culture. BUT The world spoils the place, people are very aggressive and rude, they actually attack you with their eyes and continuously asking for money regardless of the situation or place, it becomes very uncomfortable and can ruin your day. Effectively every restaurant you go to tries to take more money than it cost to consume. I repeat, the culture and the places are worth visiting, but the locals do not help at all.
Marrakech is certainly a place for the senses, full of sights, colours and smells. It's a very busy place regardless of the time of year and fantastic if you love people watching. There are plenty of restaurants to sit and have a mint tea or some delicious food and just watch the world go by. There are plenty of vegetarian restaurants and a few that cater for gluten free, although this could be improved. Walking through the souks is certainly an experience with plenty of interaction with the locals. Just a tip that if you want to buy something it's good to haggle when you're given the first price. It's almost expected. Jame el fna square is busy in the day but takes on a whole other life at night time and comes alive with more stalls, snake charmers, people selling things and locals playing local music in little groups all around the square. There are plenty of day trips that can be done from Marrakech which most Riads are happy to organise for you. There's also plenty to see in Marrakech. I would definitely recommend a visit to Le Jardin Secret. It's in the middle of the souks so it can be a bit difficult to find but as soon as you walk through the doors you're in a haven of peace. I think once you've been to Marrakech it's a place that's hard to forget.
It’s a busy city but great. It was our last stop after 13days of touring morocco so we opted out of many sites. We did the main ones and being year end, there were concerts and other activities around to keep us busy. We did several day trips as well and the best being to ourika valley…..awesome place.
Riad Rafaele was absolutely awesome. The Riad in itself was a gem, which was made even better by the faultless attention fromnall of the staff. Maroane, was so helpful, kind and pleasant to chat with, and will go the extra mile to deliver on what you'd like to do from treknin the atlas to recommendations for local restaurants. The place was beautiful, our room (5) the junior suite, was great and the rooftop was brilliant. Breakfast are also an absolute winner and will setnthe tone for the rest if the day. Thomas and Valerie, the owners are also quite friendly and give you a warm welcome on your arrival. Would definitely stay there again.
Medina, Marrakech
it’s absolutely beautiful. the decor was perfection. everything was so well thought of. the staff were very friendly and welcoming. This was a nice treat after traveling through Morocco for two weeks. I wished I could have stayed longer. we had two different rooms (only because I added a night last minute) and I highly recommend the Berber suite as it was the quietest. I’m so glad I canceled my other hotel and was able to get a suite very last minute at the riad. Thank you for making that happen Jaques! Communication was excellent.
I didnt know what to except as a solo woman traveler in Morroco and this accomodation was the best I could choose at the beginning of my journey in country. It has perfect location maybe 2 minutes from the square in very friendy part of medina. I felt completely safe there. Receptionist is super nice and will help you with everything what you will need. Place is clean and have teracce. Do you want tour? Dont hesitate and book in hotel. You will get the best price! (I had the cheapest price during 2 different tours I did).
Medina, Marrakech
Location is great for exploring the Medina. The staff is amazing, super kind and available for every request. Breakfast is amazing: Moroccan crepe, bread, eggs, delicious jam, fresh fruit. I suggest to book the transfer from the airport directly with the riad, in order to avoid taxi drivers and people on foot that will bother you as soon as you get to the city. The owner also booked us a tour to the desert, the price was cheaper than the tours they sell in the Medina and the hotels we stayed were luxury quality. Perfect!
Medina, Marrakech
A beautiful property right in the heart of the Marrakech medina. The decor is exceptional and the interior design totally unique. Each and every member of staff went out of their way to look after you, the service is the best we have experienced in any 5 star hotel that we have stayed. We had a truly wonderful experience. Finally we would thank the owner Steve, who is a true warm, genuine and entertaining character, who is the heart of the riad.
I have been to sofitel and other hotels during my stay in morocco . This hotel has the most friendly employees i have ever encountered. Very good night reception manager . My grand father passed away and i couldnt continue the stay they were kind enough to refund. Thank you guys. Very good food and very very friendly staff. Very good breakfast and the staff are so much helpful and we feel as guests taken care of. Totally advise
Medina, Marrakech
I enjoyed my stay at this Riad. The experience was lovely, and the staff were so kind. Breakfast, the cleanness of the room, everything was exceptional. Don't await luxuries like in traditional hotels. This is the real morocco, and on that basis, I would recommend this place for a real immersion in the culture. There is no cons considering all the information have been provided before our arrival.
Medina, Marrakech
Lovely authentic Riad in a local area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Don't expect a western 5 star hotel if you visit a local Riad in Marrakech. Enjoy the warmth and friendliness of the people and the atmosphere. The staff at Riad Puchka is always willing to assist or help you when you have questions. We stayed for 5 nights and felt welcome and at home. Would recommend it any day.
Medina, Marrakech
I absolutely loved my stay at Le Rihani! The riad was so beautiful, clean and the staff was amazing. Mohammed was kind enough to escort me through the medina to the riad. I was very grateful! As my first impression to Morocco, it was a great way to quick things off. I felt so cared for, the staff went above and beyond. I will definitely stay here again when I return.
Medina, Marrakech
The location was excellent, near everything you want to see in the Medina but tucked away so it’s quiet! Host Yassine is excellent. he is very friendly with everyone, always happy to see you and gives excellent recommendations. he was also very quick to respond to me in the leas up to my visit, as his hotel was my first stay in Morocco and I had some questions.
Hotel is 3 stars, but feels like 4 or 5 stars. Clean rooms, great location, and mainly amazing service, staff in reception, restaurant, doorman, coffee shop, room service, housekeeping, all going extra miles to provide us with the best service we ever expect. Special thanks to Olaya, very kind, communication skilled and always helpful.
The hotel was excellent. The all inclusive, breakfast, lunch and dinner had huge choice of food. The rooms were big, spacious and very clean, The grounds were very big which meant you could go for a walk, after eating to burn off the calories. The reception area was massive, with .many areas with comfortable sofas to relax.
Medina, Marrakech
This is our best ever 🤗 Top luxury in Morocco traditional architecture. From A to Z the leading Riad in Marrakesh close to everything in the heart of the Medina. Outstanding staff clean Suites and great food. Definitely I recommend this place and we are coming back for sure. Thank you for this memorable experience 🙏🏻
Medina, Marrakech
The staff is excellent. Very friendly and want to help you. They will set up day trips and transportation. Rooftop over looks the Medina. Location is excellent. Breakfast is very good. Had a wonderful 8 night stay. Plan to come back to Marrakesh and would stay at the Art & Emotion Hotel again.
The hotel was lovely, but potentially not worth 5 stars. however it was clean and the staff were very friendly. Big spacious rooms with AC. 2 pools one quiet and one with music. Entertainment every night. Let us keep our wristbands on the last day to use the facilities.
The reception staff are rude and unprofessional, lucking a lot of training to work on a 5 stars hotel. Their reason was because of the bad salary which is not acceptable as an excuse. Except Khadija at the restaurant, she has a good and proffessional vehavior
Big hotel sounding like a 5 stars hotel. Opposite the railway station and supratours bus station. Very convenient . Big rooms with big balconies . Clean. Huge swimming pool.
disgusting hotel - definitely not a 5 star hotel!! absolutely horrible. avoid at all cost
