We decided on this accommodation because it looked separated from the city crowd in the pictures. That's what attracted us the most, in addition to the other guest ratings, which are great! When we arrived at the location, we were greeted by the owner Reggie, who immediately offered us homemade lemonade and welcome sweets. The house is located between olive trees that are over 500 years old, this gives extra magic to the stay in this accommodation. At night, you fall asleep to the only sound you can hear, which is the chirping of birds. In the morning, you can sleep as long as you want, because there is no noise or commotion. The house has everything you need to spend as much time there as you want.. If you want to go to the city beaches, you need 10 minutes by car, which is great! Many beaches have free parking, so parking is not a problem. This was truly the best vacation we've had so far for me and my family. If you want to get away from the city crowd, the sounds of cars and other noise, I recommend this accommodation. Bonus: 100m from the accommodation there is a restaurant, "kod Avda", which you must visit! The owner will welcome you and serve you. The restaurant serves homemade dishes, with a beautiful view of the Bar! All recommendations!

It had a lesser vibe than Budva where the walk along the waterfront was very upscale with so many dining and other opportunities. The old city was very different from other old cities I have seen so "not just another castle" but it took some getting there - I was unable to snag a bus and took a taxi - and as an older person I was worried about the footing - the whole place is tumble-down - so only stayed a few minutes.

I'm afraid my impression of Bar was that it was industrial, a bit ugly and not very well looked after.(Sorry Bar, maybe I didn't go to the right places!) Wanting to visit places that are not yet wholly given over to tourism, is a two edged sword; it means that the 'pretty views' are often obscured by something utilitarian and not pretty! I took a taxi boat to Sutomore beach, which was a lovely trip and incredibly good value. The beach and water was fabulous but I think every person in the whole of Montenegro had had the same idea and the beach was extremely crowded. My reason for visiting Bar was to do the train journey from Bar to Belgrade, which I had read was one of the most beautiful in Europe. It did not disappoint and made me forgive Bar everything!

Bar is a good place for relaxing on the beach and watching...

Bar is a good place for relaxing on the beach and watching ships go by in a less touristy environment compared to Budva, which is more crowded by comparison. My favourite place is Shushanj beach, which is shaded by pines. Bar is a small city and can be easily walked on foot. Bar is conveniently located for trips to cities like Budva by a tourist boat, the capital Podgorica, Ulcinj to the south, and the huge Skadar Lake. Ulcinj is some 40 minutes away by bus. Old Bar can be reached by a local bus for 1 EUR. Podgorica and the town of Virpozar on Skadar Lake can be reached cheaply by bus or train, although the path from the train station in Virpozar is unmarked and not obvious. I suggest studying Google maps set to satellite view to identify the path before going. Obviously, any place can also be reached by taxi. Bar has a passenger port terminal, but it is not clear if any ferries go to Italy or elsewhere from there. Cruise ships call in regularly, however. There are regular outdoor concerts featuring folk and rock music, Fratello night club is in the center of the town, but I have not visited it. My attempts to find Casino Royal from James Bond movie failed. I've been told it's a fictional place. I could not locate any museums of history or art in Bar. There is a small museum in Old Bar, and the ruins of the castle are an outdoor museum (entrance is 5 EUR).

Bar is a Port city with tankers and cruise ships coming and going, and this does not help keep the sea water clean. There is a nice promenade along the waterfront, and the area seems more suited to family holidaymakers.

This is the best hotel/hostel in Bar. The facilities are excellent, with a very spacious kitchen and four stovetops, two different terraces, and air conditioning in the rooms. The manager will be your best friend in Bar; she's always looking after the facilities and caring about the guests. She recommended cultural activities I wasn't aware of, and she knows the entire surrounding area. At the end of my stay, I had a problem, and she was always in contact and ready to help. Thank you for everything.

Everything was perfect! The apartament was equiped in everything that is need to feel at home. The hosts were very helpfull and friendly. They gave us the welcome and goodbye gifts. The view was amazing. The way from the sea may not be very easy but if you want the views you have to climb a bit ;). The swimming pool was perfect for the kids. I can higly recommend this apartament and would deffinitely stay there again while visiting Montenegro.

Great apartment with perfect service. We had very good experience and spent one week in apartments, fully satisfied with new furniture and home appliances. Also perfect location with a lot of shops and very close to the sea. There are no analogue for the same price at Montenegro. Highly recommended Pearl of Montenegro apartment!

Hotel location is perfect, 5 meters from Skadar lake with perfect lake view. Hotel seams to be very new. Rooms are big and clean, food is delicious and staff is frendly. We needed 15min to the cost side and is ~20min from the airport. We had a parking pace secured inside of hotel parking free of charge.
