Excellent location, 2 blocks to the main square and 3 blocks from the 2nd square which is where you catch the collectivo’s. Restaurant’s are all right there. It couldn’t have been better. At the end of the day the Hotel was a beautiful place the retreat to and catch a few quiet restive moments before going out for the evening. We parked the car in the hotel parking area and walked or caught a collectivo’s to where ever we went, in town sights, the lake, Quiroga, Ihuatzia, Tzintzuntzan. Simply awesome!

Breakfast was just good. Nice to be able to buy coffee at the hotel in the morning. Great private covered parking but wasn't expecting to pay $50.p daily. Music at the hotel Saturday night was a great idea and a super group.

This town is so charming! Very laid-back and tranquil. (We were not visiting during the Dia de Muertos celebrations.) The central plaza is really beautiful, well utilized by the people and yet still felt low-key. The architecture is pleasing to the eye. I also love that you can see the mountains and countryside in the distance. Unlike a lot of colonial cities (I live in one), Patzcuaro does not feel closed in because the buildings are almost all no taller than two levels. I can't wait to go back!Family - 10

Patzcuaro reminded me of San Miguel de Allende, which I would like to go again! I liked walking around the Plaza and doing some shopping. Visited Janitzio which is an Island nearby. Food choices were few but our visit was too short for us to explore more food options. I ate hamburgers from a hamburger street vendor. They we ok. Our Hotel was steps away from the downtown area so we walked to and from the plaza. The climate in mid May was perfect!

The courtyard is a good place to relax, though there aren't any other communal areas to hang out if it rains. The staff was friendly and helpful. There's a kitchen for cooking. I was very happy to visit this town and also go out to the island.
