Authentic rustic interior and a great location, close to the butterfly sanctuary. You can get firewood for the fireplace in the room and rent DVDs for a cozy night, since the signal in the area is not the best. Highly recommended place for a weekend getaway!

The location... If you can cope with the steep dirt/cobbled/concrete tracks up the side of the hills, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view and nice clean rooms. Potted plants in every corner makes this feel like a home and not a hotel. The staff were very attentive and we had a great conversation with Google Translate (I am sorry for not speaking Spanish and whilst some staff spoke English, not all did). Hot water is available all day, so we could have our regular cups of tea.

We enjoyed our stay in an authentic Hacienda. The restaurant meal and atmosphere overlooking the garden was a exceptional.

Splendid balcony with rocking chair and coffee table to contemplate the silence of the neighborhood which is broken only cows moooooing going home in the late afternoon, hummingbirds on the nearby flowers, etc. The manager Juan is a cheerful and helpful chap. He can arrange taxi and English-speaking guide for the mariposas trip.

I have a great stay at this place, it is very clean, comfortable bed and the location is perfect, Angangueo is such a beautiful village. Javier was the most welcoming host. He show me around the town, invited me for a drink, had great talks. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Great spot to spend a night or two in Angangueo! The unit is basic, but spacious and very comfortable, and even has a private parking spot within the property. The town center is a 2 minute walk away, with several nice restaurants and a vibrant market square outside the church. The El Rosario Monarch Sanctuary is about a 15 minute drive away and is one of nature’s true wonders - not to be missed if you are visiting in the right season (we were pretty much bang on in the second last weekend of February). Our host, Javier was also exceptionally friendly and helpful, despite our non existent Spanish!
