We had an amazing stay here. When we arrived we actually got upgraded into the Namib Naukluft Lodge, which is just around the corner and has the same owners. Staff was absolutely wonderful and super helpful. Dinner was superb and very healthy. Eating under the stars in absolute quiet and tranquility was an amazing experience!

With mountain views, Barkhan Dune Retreat is situated in Solitaire and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

The room was completely secluded. It was about 1.5 km away from the reception, so we felt alone in the desert. The toilet, shower, and kitchenette were outside, which added to the experience. The room is large, clean, and pleasant, and thanks to the glass walls, you can see the beautiful sunrise directly from the bed.

The owners, hot showers, hospitality, views, calmness, a kitchen to prepare your food and the garden with many trees on which are hanging fruits such as oranges and others. And a small round pool ( we didn't use it though) It's an Oasis in the desert to look at. If you are driving especially at nighttime, It's quite remote and easy to miss, but the owner is a gentleman as he was waiting for us at the roadside. I don't know how long he waited but must have been a while. Shortly after we arrived, I realised that we had a punctured tyre, we decided to change it next morning, come next morning the car was lying flat on two punctured tyres ( remember don't rent a car with Avis they give you bad tyres it's known around here ) the owner helped repair a total of 3 punctures, otherwise who knows how long I had been stuck. Thanks to the gentleman.

We used the campsite, very quiet and nice facilities. We were able to relax at the pool and had dinner at the lodge.

The lodge is strategically located, less than 1h drive from Sessriem, on the outskirt of a mountain in a very nice position. The rooms are modern, super clean and spacious, sorrounded by a green garden with many trees. The common areas are equally well equipped, clean and well maintained. The breakfast provides a large number of choices for food. The value for money of the dinner is extremely advantagious.
