Facing the beachfront in Touho, Auberge Timay Evasion has a shared lounge and a garden. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a grill. Incredible location! Lush and tropical, woke up to the sound of hermet crabs wandering around the garden - really cool. Very relaxing vibe and Stan is an awesome host. There's a cool kava bar a short distance away. Great place to play petanque and meet some friendly locals. Merci bien Stan! A la prochaine!
Just 5 minutes’ walk from the beachfront, Hotel Koulnoue Village features bungalows with a terrace and sea views. Guests can relax by the swimming pool on an outdoor sun lounger. The location (each hut with beach access and view) was great. We enjoyed birds, coconut palms and the convenient distance from beautiful rock formations and the lagoon. Facilities for sports (tennis, basketball) were neat. Gardening staff friendly, main staff friendly. Wifi good, in-room clean and bathroom/shower great.
Located in Koné, Eden Appartel provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge and a garden. Great facilities, room was lovely, breakfast buffet was very cute and homely. Staff assisted well through a language barrier. Can’t wait to go back again.
Located in Koné, Pacifik Appartels provides accommodations with an outdoor pool, free WiFi, a restaurant and a bar. A large apartment, very clean and comfortable, with a kitchenette able to cook for and seat 4 people. Very pleasant and the staff was particularly well trained and welcoming. The restaurant was nice and you can order lunch-packs to go for the next day. The underground parking is secure.

Stunning setting! Lovely pool! Fridge, aircon included. Comfortable beds! Gorgeous bathrooms! Staff were so friendly, kind and professional and the breakfast was superb.

Offering an outdoor pool and free WiFi, Hotel Koniambo is located in Kone. All accommodations offers garden views and free onsite parking. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was in a quiet location. The meals served in the restaurant were generous and enjoyable.
A small town, with limited entertainment and eating options; a nice cafe (next to Société Générale Poindimié), and Koyaboa Pizza after 5pm. The 'Poindimié Discount' is a good supermarket in the middle of town. Nice place to escape from the tourist trail, and experience what we believed to be "authentic New Caledonia".
Worth the drive from Noumea. I would travel up the west coast with the first leg turning off just before Kone, and on the return leg, take the road below which exits at Bourail. 2 completely different drives and well worth the trip. And then arriving at Poindimie - what a beautiful location, tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The reef is the best I have ever seen, and we have travelled to many tropical island locations. Definitely ensure that you book either a snorkel or a dive whilst in Poindimie - very affordable, and possibly you will find that you are the only ones on the reef. Like a private tour, really.
I enjoyed the peace and tranquillity as well as the beauty of the place. If you are after a riveting nightlife, this will not suit but if you are after tranquillity, you will love it. Make sure you go to the reef (aqua lagoon is based at Tieti hotel and they offer great care and snorkeling in a small group). I have snorkeled in quite a few countries but this is the only time I have been able to see a couple of sharks and a turtle in the one outing. There would also be some nice bushwalking around, although it is not really my thing...I would recommend renting a car from Noumea and enjoying the drive, perhaps with a break for the night on the way. Stunning river views and valleys to enjoy.
Poindimie is a VERY SMALL place. Was a good 4-hour drive from Noumea. Signage is not great, if you enter Bourail you have missed the turn-off just prior. Turn left at the roundabout. Poindimie is isolated - a good place to stay to break up a car journey or a good place to stay if you want to chill and not do a great deal. Tourist infrastructure is very limited. You can book diving or snorkelling trips through Aqua Lagoon at Hotel Tieti. Eating options are few and expensive. You need a car to get around. Locals are friendly.
Fix the selection of tv channels - all other New Caledonia hotels manage at least one, and usually more, English language ones. For heaven's sake buy better wines - an expensive selection of bad French wines is just silly. Add some good Aust/NZ ones, and halve the price.
Great rooms, lovely setting, lots to offer. My partner loved the seafood buffet.
