Leon is a pretty and interesting city.
Leon is a pretty and interesting city. We enjoyed a walking tour and the art museum was absolutely fantastic. We also really enjoyed doing a few trips from here - to the beach/mangroves at Las Penatas, and a volcano hike. We spent a week here which was a perfect amount of time for us, but we travel quite slowly!

Leo is a very visitor friendly city.
Leo is a very visitor friendly city. It is small enough that you can walk everywhere. Very friendly people and happy to help. Lots of culture as well as outdoor activities including beaches and volcano hikes and boarding nearby. My favorite place in Nicaragua.

I really see no reason to visit Leon, unless you have a...
I really see no reason to visit Leon, unless you have a specific purpose to go there as in business, or family. The place is like living in a furnace, and just doesn´t offer anything to make the stay worthwhile.

We found the one-way streets quite confusing for driving...
We found the one-way streets quite confusing for driving around…better to park and walk.
Power to the city went out for about one hour…only a few businesses actually had a back-up generator and/or candles but everyone seemed to take it in stride.

Beautiful, historic and young student city.
Beautiful, historic and young student city. Wish I stayed longer here! Museum of the Revolution explained the history and context of Leon so well, would highly recommend. Try some street food too like elote! The atmosphere is the city was the nicest in all of Nicaragua.

The old part of town is a quaint colonial place with a lot of restaurant options; I recommend the small food tour offered to see the market and learn about the different fruits and dishes. The location is perfect for a quick visit to the beaches that are less than 30 minutes away, you can catch a taxi easily there.

The location of this accommodation in León is fantastic—right in the heart of the city, making it convenient for exploring nearby attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites. The room we stayed in was spacious and equipped with air conditioning, which was a welcome relief in the warm weather. Breakfast options were a highlight, with both traditional dishes and pancakes available, and they were delicious. The staff stood out for being incredibly sweet and professional, always ready to assist with a smile.

I really enjoyed my stay in this lovely little hotel. The double room has a lot of day light, nice view and a direct access to a rooftop terrace with a chill zone. Everyone working here is very friendly and helpful.
Very good breakfast (either Nica or pancakes with fruit) and a generous dose of coffee made my mornings here even more enjoyable.
Walking distance 15min to the centre or to the bus station to take a bus to Las Peñitas beach.
I absolutely recommend this place to everyone staying in Leon.

Great location, very central to Leon and close to the cathedral and main square. Our room was large with lots of space. The filtered water, tea, coffee and kitchen was great. But best of all the hosts were so lovely and helpful even with our terrible spanish. They did our laundry so well, the best we've had it done our whole trip and helped us with the bus and to leave our bags after check out. Great value for the price!

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with everything we could have wanted/ needed. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and really tasty. Staff very helpful (we booked transfers and our volcano boarding through them which was fantastic!). The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the communal areas are lovely to sit in and listen to the birds. I wouldn’t recommend you stay anywhere else in Leon!
