The city was very relaxed. The hotel was close to the city center and it was easy to get to many different restaurants, shops and places of interest. I was impressed by the very well designed mass transit, pedestrian and bike paths and the amazingly helpful and friendly people. Even though rainy and beginning to turn cold, walking in Stavanger is a pleasure. I loved seeing the swans on the lake and watching the ships and boats in the harbor.
Stavanger is a nice little town: Lot's of good restaurants (especially Gadja - Ethiopian - not only the best Ethiopian, just one of the best meals I've ever had); pubs, bars, and sidewalk cafes; interesting walks about town; and a great cruise-walk combo from Rodne (a back-and-forth cruise up the fjord for most, but with an excellent option for "walkers" to go up to Pulpit Rock).
it is a nice place to work and a tourist rest. Beautiful people. I'm still in love with this place !! for lovers of Scandinavia, a great place, to visit, nice hotels, good food and fresh air.
Stavanger is a place from which you can undertake many nature excursions. The place has a nice atmosphere and picturesque city center. Also fjord cruises are possible. I think it is underrated. Pedersgata is a good street to eat, and you should definitely explore Storhaug and take a picture from Bybrua, and of course gamle stavanger shouldn't be missed, nor the harbor. The tier scooters offer a nice quick, if expensive, way to explore the city more quickly. Busses are another option.
Loved the old part of the town, the parks, the harbour and the size of the town. Not too small, not too big. And people are very kind. We recommend going on the cruise to Preikestolen - it’s the best way to see a big part of the beautiful surroundings. The downside to Stavanger (and most parts of Norway) is that it is quite expensive. Especially to eat on restaurants and cafes. But we knew that beforehand, so we were not surprised.
Excellent small city. Highly recommended that anyone who travels there takes a cruise of the beautiful Lysefjord as well as hiking up Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). Plenty of gorgeous nature in the area. There is a garden island (Flor og Fære) that can be accessed by a short boat ride (30 minutes), but be aware that this island is mainly about the meal (very good) meal, and the island as a whole is pretty small. It is an excellent trip for older/less active people or just a lazy day with friends, but I would not recommend it for a solo traveller.

Very scenic and close to town and many places to eat. Very well located to have fun and fully enjoy your trip and all the sites. The breakfast and dinner included made my stay very relaxing. Wonderful hotel! I would definitely stay here again.
The location is good. It is a short walk from the city center. The airport bus stops right next to it. Breakfast is good. The air conditioner system worked properly. The facilities of the hotel are good.
Breakfast was the best, both variety and quality; light dinner offered was quite amazing; location was right in the center, not far from train station and easy to find; helpful staff; chic design
Perfect location - the airport shuttle drops off right in front of the property, and a lot of your tour companies do too. Less than a 5 minute walk to the harbor and lots of great restaurants

Perfect location, everything is in walking distance. Staff is very friendly. The rooms are basic. The beds are super comfortable. All you need, you get. Its fine for the price in Norway.
Love going to Scandic Hotels, have been travelling to Norway for many years, if i can stay at a Scandic i will, as it feels like home to me when i am there.

Everything was great about this hotel. The room (and the view), the breakfast, the reception, the details.
