Located in the beautiful town of Svolvær in the Lofoten Archipelago, Scandic Vestfjord Lofoten offers free WiFi and rooms with views of the Vest Fjord and the characteristic Svolværgeita Mountain. Breakfast was very good. The staff are friendly and caring. They were apologizing that the breakfast is not as usual because they had some reconstruction going on. But actually it was the best breakfast I had during this trip (I stayed in 6 different hotels on this trip). I did not even notice any reconstruction. Amazing view both in the dining area, as well as my room - just in front of the harbour. Convenient location if you take ferries to or from Bodo or other locations in Lofoten.

Svolvaer is a great pictures town with a bery nice water front. The restaurants and coffee shops are great and there a lot of activities all around. We used it as a base camp as we drove all around the amazing Lofoten islands for six days.
Svolvaer is beautiful; but you must visit the rest of Lofoten Islands. There are charming fishing villages, beautiful beaches and stunning rugged landscapes. It’s one of the most beautiful places on earth !
If you don't mind a small room and fighting every morning just to get some breakfast then this is the place for you. If you don't mind staff being rude to you because you ask if there's anywere to sit to have your breakfast then this is the place for you. If you don't mind paying for a sea view superior room and then end up in a box on the side of the hotel and no way of moving as you are in the "best" room they have, then this is the hotel for you. If you are part of a coach tour you will get treated like royalty, otherwise you don't matter as you won't be bringing constant customers to their door. I wouldn't stay here again if I was paid to and got it for free, it's that bad, for a chain and the price you pay you expect far more than this, like good manners for a start.
Svolvaer is essentially a fishing port. There are huge mountains surrounding it. There are some easy hikes but mostly it is in the territory of rockclimbing with ropes due to the steepness of the mountains. I assume there is good fishing and mountain climbing And northern lights sightseeing in winter. The town has everything you need but limited activities.
Probably one of the least scenic towns we saw in the Lofoten Islands. There are some decent hotels down by the water, as well as restaurants. The remainder of the town is industrial looking. Almost no place for coffee/breakfast until 9am if you don't have that option where you are staying. Even Circle K, the last resort choice for coffee and a pastry had nothing to offer. Use it as a ferry terminal, but head out to better locations.
Svolvaer is a good starting point for discovering Lofoten. We stayed 4 nights in a fantastic house at Svinoya. To discover Lofoten with its amazing nature it's useful to rent a car, which is very expensive. We were disappointed not to find a fishmonger's shop with a good choice of fresh fish and seafood.
Svolvær
Excellent service from the staff and good maintained place, everything neatly arranged so you have an easy time keeping clean after yourself. It is not a location to go and relax for a week, unless you book all the rooms for you and your family. But as some non pretentious nights for people who enjoy walking few extra mins from the city center, it was perfect and lovely. I was offered to borrow a bike, and the outside sitting area was just lovely too. Would surely use again if I'd spend a couple of nights in Svolvær
Anker Brygge is only 5’ walk from Express Boat terminal so this is perfect for us as we came to Svolvær by Express Boat late evening and located in Svolvær sentrum. The cabin is clean and kitchen has all basic things. We stayed in cabin 233 near reception which still have good sea view from windows. The price we paid is reasonable. when we compare to other tourist places in southern Norway.
It was a good place to stop off between ferries. Very easy to find, clean, practical, very clear instructions for checking in and out. Most of all, the receptionist was super helpful and put us together a packed breakfast because we were leaving early the next day, it was a really nice touch.
Svolvær
Own kitchen and washing machine very useful when on an adventure trip to Norway. Views from the place were stunning, added bonus of own table outdoors to have breakfast at. Very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Worth the 15min walk into Svolvaer.
The location is just perfect to crash after arriving at Svolvær or to take the ferry back from there. Great staff, very clean, hassle-free check-in with the code!
