The communication with the owner was very friendly and welcoming, that felt very good to start with. The appartment was very new, clean and cosy. We only stayed one night because we traveled further. Despite that we discovered a little bit about the surroundings, which we loved!

Veslemøy was extremely kind, the apartment was cozy and spotless, and the surrounding area is really beautiful. During our stay we visited the Verdens Ende which I'm happy to recommend as a nice family trip destination.

This is a quiet city, with a pleasant waterfront to walk, a fortress ruin to climb to and explore. The main square has several outside restaurants to enjoy the summer sun and people watch. Dining is somewhat limited to mostly pizza, catering mainly to visitors. The cathedral has very limited open hours, as does the sole Catholic church. The cemetery offers a calm, peaceful place to picnic.

Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose...

Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose from especially along the harbour (still busy at weekends in late August) and a pretty promenade along the fjord to Nordbyen. We managed to take the bus to Verdens Ende, and the beautiful car-free island of Veierland as well as the train to Oslo, during our 4 day stay, using the wonderful public transport system and VKT and VY apps

Disappointing stay in Tønsberg – poor hospitality and zero accountability My experience in Tønsberg was ruined by an unacceptable apartment booking situation. The host canceled on arrival due to “double-booking,” gave no assistance, and the alternative accommodation was dirty and poorly managed. It’s shocking that in a busy summer town like Tønsberg, some hosts feel entitled to treat visitors this way – with no responsibility or professionalism. This left me with no trust in local hosts and no desire to return. Tønsberg may be charming, but this level of service is not.

Having grown up in Tonsberg, I am biased but this town is the oldest town in Norway and full of history. It is particularly a summer paradise, but also a great base for exploring other parts of Norway with excellent rail links.

The location is excellent - just a short walk from the train station, and I love that the hotel is right on the waterfront. Breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of options and great coffee. I also appreciated being able to check in a little earlier than the standard time, at no extra charge, thanks to room availability. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, and the floor heating in the bathroom was an exceptional touch that made the stay even more comfortable.

A beautiful apartment close to the center of Tønsberg. Comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. A small nice sofa and dining table, it’s even aircondition in the living room. There’s a small terrace at the entrance, with a sofa so we could sit outdoors in the sun. It was a big plus for us. Martine, the owner is very friendly and helpful, she will do anything for you. I can highly recommend this apartment. Next time in Tønsberg, I’ll book it again.

The breakfast was the best of the trip: the Chef added a bit of magic to everything. Outside, the town of Tønsberg is amazing. Try Roar for the sweetest prawns ever and the “little” shopping centre for everything. Afterwards, the scenery, bars and restaurants cannot be outdone.
