Beautifully decorated room with fabulous views of the harbour. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The bathroom floor was heated! The hotel is on the boardwalk with all the best restaurants & within walking distance of trains, buses, boats, museums. Very pretty city! I wish to highly recommend the Thon Hotel Tonsberg Brygge. 10/10.

Cute and cosy accomodation with fireplace and firewood - perfect for winter travels. The appartment has a well-equipped kitchen, floor-heating, a washing machine, a comfortable bed in a small niche, for large people there is a sofa bed. The appartment is clean and lovingly decorated - its perfect for solo travellers (I traveled with my dog) or couples. Hege & Espen are wonderful hosts. I was lucky to spend christmas with them and they recommended great ski trails for me to try out. I would love to come back in summer :-)

The house is beautifully renovated and pristine and set in a pretty car free and silent village. There is a lovely outdoor patio to relax in during sunny weather. It is an easy 15 minute walk from the Bus and Train stations and 5 minutes from the town centre and harbour allowing us to visit many places during our 4 night stay

Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose...

Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose from especially along the harbour (still busy at weekends in late August) and a pretty promenade along the fjord to Nordbyen. We managed to take the bus to Verdens Ende, and the beautiful car-free island of Veierland as well as the train to Oslo, during our 4 day stay, using the wonderful public transport system and VKT and VY apps

Disappointing stay in Tønsberg – poor hospitality and zero accountability My experience in Tønsberg was ruined by an unacceptable apartment booking situation. The host canceled on arrival due to “double-booking,” gave no assistance, and the alternative accommodation was dirty and poorly managed. It’s shocking that in a busy summer town like Tønsberg, some hosts feel entitled to treat visitors this way – with no responsibility or professionalism. This left me with no trust in local hosts and no desire to return. Tønsberg may be charming, but this level of service is not.

Having grown up in Tonsberg, I am biased but this town is...

Having grown up in Tonsberg, I am biased but this town is the oldest town in Norway and full of history. It is particularly a summer paradise, but also a great base for exploring other parts of Norway with excellent rail links.

Lovely classy hotel with great location and close to waterfront and old section of Tonsberg. Few minutes walk to great selection of restaurants ( Esmeralda excellent). Staff very friendly and helpful in fact, the best we have encountered in our 5 months in Norway to date!. Lovely room, quite, excellent bed, great shower Lovely breakfast, all perfect . Originally planned to only stay a night as a stopover returning from Denmark via the ferry , but found Tonsberg and accommodation so nice stayed 3 nights! J Scott ( Brisbane Australia)

Lovely cosy little place, well equiped kitchen comfortable bed, the bedding was so nice and soft too, a real home from home. Perfect for a small family or couple, I wouldn't take a toddler as there are some steep steps to the loft bed. Trransport from the airport was easy, shuttle to Torp station from the airport, train to to Tønsberg then bus from Tønsberg bus station takes 10 minutes, apartment is 2 minutes from the bus stop which run every 10 minutes during the day, 2 minute walk to the beach which is stunning and so peaceful.

Nice location right on the water. Very good breakfast. Excellent choice of food. Reception helped finding cheaper places to park the car, avoiding the expensive One-park garage under the hotel.
