Breakfast os basic but good. And they have nice coffee on spot available. Which was big plus for me

Very interesting town. Excellent exhibition at the fort.
Very interesting town. Excellent exhibition at the fort. Lovely walk to and from the dragon sculpture (up along one coastline and back along the other). The exhibitions at Vardø museum were small and not very informative although the photos of historic Vardø (people and street life) were wonderful.

Definitely take the opportunity to go to the end of the...
Definitely take the opportunity to go to the end of the island and explore the old WWII bunkers. Whale sightings were plentiful from the shore. Also, rent a car and take the drive to Hamningberg. Short 45 drive to the town, but stunning landscapes and views. You wont be disappointed!

The farthest Eastern place in Norway.
The farthest Eastern place in Norway. I visited it in Winter, few days after the first sunrise this year. Sunrises over Barents see are magnificent! Lots of places to wander nearby. Fantastic opens paces. Calm and silent. The road to Vardo is epic. On the coast, there is a XVII Century Witch Hunt Memorial which is worthy to see. As the town is not too big, it is a great place to hunt for Northern Lights too!

Nice quiet old fishing town to visit. Meieriet is owned and run by a beautiful couple, Dawn & Johnny. They put their heart and soul into this Hotel and deserve to have every success. Rooms are a good size and clean. Johnny is the cook and made us a wonderful dinner. Dawn is a lovely down to earth person who is very chatty, helpful. You could not get a better host. She pointed out places to visit and advised about the incredible drives in the area. Plenty of car parks out the front of the hotel.

The apartment was very comfortable and we had a good view of the port. The restaurant on the main floor has excellent food and they delivered our pizza to our room at the top of the stairs. This was our second year in a row to stay in this accommodation making it our preference for Vardø.

This is the perfect place to stay in Vardø. The location was amazing, I could watch whales from my window, and it is very close to the supermarket and a short walk into town. Everything was clean and the apartment was fitted out with everything I needed.

Warm, comfortable, great view. Excellent location for the Vardø art trail & hornoyå & of course Hamningberg, not forgetting the unmissable Nordpol Kro & memorial to the victims of the witch trials. Oh and the wildlife from the window.
