Paihia as a whole is a very beautiful part of the northland my favorite bar and restaurant at the moment to eat at is the KCB both breakfast and dinner and very happy with the food and service to matched. For entertainment music Paihia Sports bar has a great mixed environment and people with a residential DJ playing retro old school music keeps the people dancing with a amazing vibe. The café next to the Paihia Sports bar I wouldn't buy cooked breakfast their after paying $30 left me very disappointed especially for what I paid should of went to KCB for breakfast at least their my expectations would be met. Getting around Paihia is so easy.
Have visited Paihia many times and each time wished could have stayed longer. It is a lovely area to visit with good choice of accommodation . Good selection of food outlets. It is a busy place during holiday season with parking being difficult sometimes. Lots to do there from walking to sightseeing the beautiful surrounding area. The Treaty grounds are very interesting.
Fantastic base for exploring the Bay of Islands and further Northland areas. Jump on the ferry to Russell - or drive to towns like Rawene or Mangonui for fish and chips. Charlotte's Kitchen is a must!
Paihia is a hidden gem, beautiful beach, access to other areas of the Bay of Islands through Fullers boats and aerial sight seeing. The centre of Maori/European history with Waitangi just around the corner and New Zealands first capital Russell just across the bay. Food is great but not cheap and the locals are great fun. Places to visit are the Waitangi treaty grounds and the flag pole in Russell and while there have a look at the church, it still has the musket bullet holes from the battles waged in the 1800's.
Always a treat travelling to Paihia. Most restaurants/bars closed 8-9pm for serving. Only 1 ice cream shop is open after this time across the road from Jimmy Jacks. Safe area/beaches. Best restaurant is Jimmy Jacks players for $129.99 easily feed a large family of 6 and always great service! Charlottes Kitchen usually have a live band and nice restaurant right at the end of the Paihia wharf.
`Going out on the boat "Explorer" to the Hole in the Rock and dolphin watching (we found three pods) is a lovely way to spend a day. Going across to Russell by ferry is very relaxing and Russell is well worth a visit.
There are to many to name. We have been using Kings gate Hotel coming up to 2 years now and every time we come back the reception clerks are helpful, communicative. the rooms are clean, the staff who do the room service cleaning are doing a good job. The breakfast buffet we love, the location the motels in is perfect for where it is, e.g places to eat, tourist attractions I.e helicopter tour, bike, kayak, paddle board hire. We have booked ahead for the 31st of December to the 2nd of January which is our yearly getaway

Very smooth check-in. The two-bedroom apartment was on two levels, with a very well-equipped kitchen, spa bath, and a terrace with bbq on level 1. The view was fantastic! And the hotel is very close to the beach, Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We used this as our base to explore the Ninety Mile Beach, Cape Reinga, Te Paki Sand dunes. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well. This was our second time at Blue Pacific Apartments and we had a fabulous stay!

We have stayed at the beach house a number of times now and it is always a comfortable and homely stay. We enjoy this house as it is very spacious for the whole family/friends to enjoy. Close to the beach and countdown. The view is delightful, always nice to wake to. This house caters to a group of people (Families, group of friends, colleagues).
Location was right opposite the beach, handy shop, fuel station and cafe next door. A short walk from the centre of Paihia where there are shops and restaurants and the quay for boat trips. It is a short walk and very quick drive to the Whaitangi cultural centre re the Treaty. Milk, tea coffee available in the kitchen. Very good for longer stays
Paihia
Awesome location, the view to the beach from the inside of the house was better than the pictures! Two outside showers to clean the sand off when returning from the beach 50 metres away. 5 min walk to dairy/takeaway/restaurant/supermarket, and 15 min to Paihia Warf. And the dishwasher is a must when travelling with family.
The staff allowed a late checkout and were generally friendly. The hotel location backs onto the waitangi grounds which is lovely. The room itself was a decent size. It was a good place to explore paihia from if you're not spending too much time in your hotel. The bed was large and comfortable.
Paihia
Excellent value for money, but that could be due to shoulder season. Large room (kitchen/lounge + separate bedroom), central location, comfy bed, balcony. It's a second street from the beach, so you still get some view over the Bay of Islands - and it's quieter then the front location.
Paihia
Bed was really nice comfortable. Awesome place to stay at. Nice and clean right by the main road. Not far from the beach, as it is within walking distance. The shops are about 5mins walking as well. And so many other hotels around as well

The effort that was put into making the hotel room so welcoming and comforting was amazing! Good deal for the price you pay as well would definitely recommend. Best hotel I’ve stayed at by far in Paihia!

Stunning views, spacious room, tasty homemade breakfast and most of all, the friendly and helpful hostess. Thank you Brita and Heizn, you will be our first choice for Paihia from now on.

We stayed for 6 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. It was very clean and a good size for a family. We liked the fact that it was a 15min walk into the main Paihia shops.

Nice view , clean and quiet place ! The staff so friendly, my kids super happy 😄and ask me to come back again! Recommend for family holidays place.
Very good family location. We enjoyed a family BBQ at the pool. Our kids had a great time. Local spots to visit/see were close to the hotel

Glad to have chosen that hotel, enjoyed the walks to beach. Very comfortable rooms, plenty of room. My man ate the biscuits. Would stay again.

Great advise on where to go. Allowing us to check in early when room was ready. The quality of room and beds. Access to central Paihia.
Paihia
Breakfast was very good, and the location was perfect. Away from the bustle of central Paihia, but close enough for everything.
Paradise, a Fabulous small hotel on beachfront with friendly staff, exceptional cuisine. A perfect place to explore the Bay of Islands.
Its central, has great kitchen facilities so perfect for a work trip and good secure parking.
