Ivan, the manager, who is super friendly and helps me a lot to book taxi from bus station to hotel, assists me a lot to connect the next hotel, books me the flight to Nasca Line, a really decent, helpful and joyful man who lets our journey become easy and pleasant. Thanks a lot.

Very central, just a 5 minute walk to Mom’s Cafe - if you’re doing a Peru Hop this is the pick up/ drop off location. Staff were great. I don’t speak Spanish and they have limited English, but they made sure I was well looked after and even rang the tour operator I’d booked with to do my Nazca lines flight because they were concerned that the tour company had forgotten about me. The room was spacious and clean. Plenty of hot water. I had booked my Nazca Lines flight for 8am, so the hotel was going to provide breakfast to me after I returned. I landed up not having breakfast as I was still a bit unsettled after the flight!

The mysterious Nazca Lines spark many conversations and the little town of Nazca has capitilized on the interest. It's a small town big on character. The Plaza de Armas and surrounding blocks is a bustling hub of activity as the day turns to night. Families, children (young and old), vendors, and tourist all converge to give the park a carnival atmosphere. I travelled by bus (between 8-9 hours from Lima) and stayed one night. In hindsight a second night would have allowed me to enjoy Nazca just a bit more but I believe a third night would have been unnecessary. I stayed in the La Maison de Lydia which sits on the edge of town. I walked into town and back and felt perfectly safe but, for 5 CLP you can take a taxi into town. The DM Hoteles Nasca has a small planetarium on their property and they do a presentation about the Nazca Lines and constellation allignment. There are presentations in different languages so inquire at the hotel. One tip, if it is a cloudy night it is best to pass as a large part of the presentation is outdoors looking at the night sky. Cost 20 CLP. This was one of my oldest bucket list items and I enjoyed every minute of my stay in Nazca. The ariel tours, of which there are many, have it down to a science. My hotel booked me with AeroNazca and they were awesome. Enjoy!
It’s a great little stop that breaks down our trip well. There are a few quite interesting attractions around nazca apart from the Nazca Lines. The only downside is that you have to take a taxi to most of these places of interest (the aqueducts on Cantalloc, the mummy cemetery in Chauchilla, the pyramids of Cahuachi, etc) and there’s an entrance fee to be paid to all these attractions on top of the taxi trip. Worth visiting though if you’ve got a bit of time and are not on a tight budget.
Nazca is a tiny town and tourists go there for visiting the Nazca lines (by taking a small plane), there's a museum Antonini which has pre-columbian art, there is a desert nearby which is beautiful to go to for watching the sunset and there are some other attractions. One could spent one to two days in Nazca. The city itself has nothing much to offer. There are many touristic restaurants, however, dare to try out some local restaurant, which serves local food, as the prices are very low (around 3 euros for a full meal with drink included!)
I loved Nazca! I enjoyed the colours and vibrancy. There were plenty of lovely restaurants to get delicious food. The Nazca hotel showed a fantastic film about Maria Reiche and the Nazca lines. We were completely mesmerised by our experience of flying over the Nazca lines. The pilots were so fun and helpful (we took travel sickness pills as advised prior to the flight and o felt fine during it.) I love the desert and Nazca did not disappoint. A fantastic place to visit and explore in Peru!
Nazca is a wonderful small town, people are very friendly and everything is close. The tour to the Chauchilla cemetery and Andre the pottery maker is a must! Plaza de Armas is great for relaxing and people watching, Rico de Pollo was the best place in town for roast chicken! And a visit to Planetario inside the hotel Nazca Lines as well as the Aqueductos de Cantayoc were definite musts too!
`Nazca is a nice small city. There weren’t a lot of tourists visible, but that might be due to the time of the year. Certainly, July is really lovely, not too hot or not too cold. The town is easy to walk around and the museum is worth a visit after you have taken the flight over the Nazca Lines. We were really sorry we missed going to Great Temple, which is about 25 kilometres outside of the city, but we did see the aqueducts, they are worth seeing. You will need to go there by car or bus. There is one in the grounds of the museum, but that one isn’t one of the circular ones. There are a lot of places to eat and the food isn’t that expensive. Do try the Whole Chicken Place. Ask people where it is. I can’t remember the name, but whole roast chickens seem to be it’s thing and came highly recommended. It was certainly an experience. It is across the street from the Cruz del Sur bus station. It’s just a short drive to the airport, for the Nazca Lines flights. Don’t eat too much before you experience that. Let us say, it’s a bit of a Disney ride, but you have to do it or you will miss something magnificent and awe inspiring.
