This is arguably one of the very best locations in Tahiti!! The private studio opens out onto a small yard and deck that is just a few steps from a gorgeous lagoon. The studio is a short drive (~20 min) from the airport, but just outside the more heavily developed touristy areas of Tahiti. We took long walks on the beach, and encountered just a small handful of friendly neighbors. There were kayaks available for use, and it was like kayaking in an aquarium! No need to snorkel because the water was so clear that we could see everything below us from the kayak through the crystal clear water. We enjoyed morning coffee and sunsets on the deck, gazing across the water to the view of Moorea. The fully equipped indoor/outdoor kitchen makes it possible to cook your meals, if that's what you prefer, and there is a grocery store just across the road. The studio itself is spacious and seems to have been recently remodeled and very clean. The owner lives in the adjacent house. She does not speak much English, but had her brother, who speaks excellent English, come by to make sure we had everything we need. He was super nice, and cut coconuts from the tree for us to drink! We recommend bringing water shoes for swimming because there is coral and rocks.

The property key was easy to find along with the gate opener! We checked in late so it was dark. We did need a flashlight to find it which was totally fine - just make sure your phone battery is charged! The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook dinner both nights we were there. Host was very responsive via Booking App. Wifi was excellent and allowed me to do some work during the evenings!

We had a wonderful stay at Moanaura Lodge. It is located in a quieter part of the island further away from all the tourists and cruise ships, which allows one to be more immersed in the local culture. The setting is beautiful with lush jungly mountains on one side and the blue ocean on the other. Klaus was a fantastic caretaker for the property - very friendly and approachable, willing to answer all of our questions. Meileana was also readily available by email and promptly responded to any questions we had about check in and payment. Overall, this property is great value for its price!

Our hosts were exceptional every way; accommodating, considerate, and kind. We loved to wake up to the sound of the waves and the artfully designed breakfast consisting of seasonal local fruits, baguettes, coffe/tea, juice and condiments. Private access to the beach and the neighboring grocery store was a huge plus!

I liked the area because it was away from the main city.

I liked the area because it was away from the main city. The locals are very friendly. Just make sure you have transportation. I would recommend renting a car. Although we rented a car from the airport, there is a car rental place near the lodge. It may be cheaper, as airport rentals tend to be higher.

Excellent stay with Alex and Lovina. The location is perfect, only 50 m from a beautiful beach with an amazing coral reef and the best snorkeling we experienced in all of French Polynesia so far. The accommodation was comfortable and well set up. Alex was an incredibly thoughtful host. After I accidentally forgot my speaker, he arranged for his daughter to deliver it to our next hotel over an hour away, which we truly appreciated. This is a special place that exceeded our expectations, and we’ll take away wonderful memories.

Alexy was a wonderful, helpful host and super responsive before and during our stay. The bungalows are a close walk to a beach with great snorkeling (Alexy gave great info for managing the current) and to an old Tahitian temple. There is also a restaurant and grocery store within walking distance. The bungalow had a great little kitchen though it was hot and humid for cooking. We enjoyed the covered deck during the couple of storms that blew in.

The GOOD thing about this place what is outside of your room. While the location is close to the South end of Tahiti Nui, it is in a protected water area. It is BEAUTIFUL. It has a deck into the water where you see fish through the clear water. Good snorkeling right near the dock area. They provide kayak, boards, which you can use to reach the rift. Overall, what is outside the room worth the price.
