Very comfortable room and clean. Nice view onto the street. Friendly staff. I came early and had my luggage held for me until I came back later that day to check in. Great location. Easy access to places I was visiting. I did no use the restaurant but hope to next time.

I have visited the former regional capital and current...

I have visited the former regional capital and current voivodship administrative centre of Opole (Oppeln in German) quite often. The city, already messed around under the Weimar Republic (ripping down of the mediaeval castle to make way for a nonetheless imposing modernist 6-floor administrative complex to leave behind only the so-called Piast castle tower) as well as the Nazis (wrecking the Town Hall) suffered heavy damage at the end of WWII. Polish Stalinist-cum-architectural 'puritan/fanatics' caused the 'rebuilding' of a great many town houses around the Market Square in Prussian-free Baroque. However, the relatively small city (c.125,000 inhabs) still provides a comparatively ambient atmosphere, thanks to smaller, more intimate scale architecture in the centre alongside inner-urban districts and quite a variety of shopping possibilities, combined with good quality cafes, bars and restaurants.

Our foruth visit on business to a wonderful, small city.

Our foruth visit on business to a wonderful, small city. Easy to find your way around, restaurants good overall and the Polih people were very friendly and helpful. Raiways good to take day drips to local places if time permitted. Wroclaw aiport much better than Warsaw airport!!

Opole is famous for its concerts both indoor and outdoor.

Opole is famous for its concerts both indoor and outdoor. Go to a concert. (Book it as soon as you can so you get seats.) The walkways along the canal are beautiful and peaceful. Go for a walk. If you want a really special night out, check out the Italian restaurant "La Finestra" or the Hotel Starka (which overlooks the canal).

Excellent walks around the Old Town.

Excellent walks around the Old Town. Charming city with loads of restaurants to choose from. The City Museum was amazing, specially the anthropology related rooms. Ask for the local beer, it's strong but delicious!

There are so many nice things about this small city.

There are so many nice things about this small city. Firstly, an awesome railway station. The walk along Krakowska to the centre is really nice and there are some good shops and bakeries. A walk along the river to the centre is even nicer. The architecture is interesting - Polish, Austro Hungarian, German, Italianate and central European. Look out for some interesting glass and plaster works on one of the buildings in the Maly Rynek. There is a war memorial in the Maly Rynek - from the Communist Era - and it is very imposing. There are lots of small fountains, sculptures, and little details everywhere.

Opole is peaceful and serene as you walk along the tree...

Opole is peaceful and serene as you walk along the tree lined canal toward the old town. Opole has the balance right. Although you are in a city, you have the feeling of a small town but with all the desired amenities nearby. Yes, Opole has tourism but not the overwhelming tourism that confronts us in other popular destinations. If you are a tourist, there is no shortage of places to see or good restaurants. And as with much of Poland, value for money is dramatically better than the rest of Europe.

The room was a reasonable size for 2 adults and 1 child. The bathroom was a great size, although I missed a bath. Housekeepers were very friendly and the dining room in the evenings was very relaxing. Everyone spoke a little English, which helped. The hotel itself was very clean and inviting, staff very professional. Great location to the city, although this comes with its downside.

The hotel is as central as it gets in Opole. 5 minutes walk from the main square, close to several great restaurants and cafes. The staff was very friendly. It's great that there was parking available. The bathroom was great!
