Zawoja is a nice little town. There is a nice playarea for children, good restaurants, and the people in the cultural house (information) are very friendly, and helpful. There is a beautiful old church, a farm with animals (you can feed) nearby, waterfall (adventure to get to, but worth it) or cable cart (with a beautiful views). We drove almost everywhere, as I had a twisted ankle, but there are many cycle and walking paths.
A bit odd really, reminded me of rundown towns in Canada. We went to look for something to eat in the main 'urban' area and met the usual drunks that seem to perpetuate small Polish towns. All the eateries served a very poor offering of mock 'mountain' style food: meat, meat and more meat, grilled, roasted, boiled, fried etc. It was 33/35 degrees that day and only one place had a salad! Very poor choice in food for vegetarians or coeliacs, if you are a vegan forget it, best option would be to go self-catering. There is a Crèperie/nalesnikarnia in the main area adjoined to a supermarket that does a good variety of food, but nowhere else, they all have the same menu with slight variations. Thee is plenty of scenery, and lots of forest walks to be taken, but the paths are not organised like the UK or Canada and it's important to take plenty of safety equipment with you especially a high vis vest and plenty of fly spray/ sting relief. You need the High-Vis vest to avoid being shot or run-down by middle-aged-teenagers, forty-somethings, on extremely expensive boy toy All Terrain Bikes who care for nobody but their selfs, after all they've left their families at home to come and enjoy their selfs.
The place was easy to find, extremely clean, and the breakfaat filling! A cash machine and small grocery store were just across the street. Good wifi, too. The host, Gregory, went out of his way to find us another hotel when we wanted to stay longer but he couldn't accomodate us. I would definitely stay here again!😊👍
Localisation is simply great: close to walking-trails and cable-car. This is in fact big complex especially for skiing and winter sports. They have a big parking for guest. Room was big and clean. Bed-sheets and towels were clean. We could use small fridge and electric kettle. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Cottage is in perfect location in Zawoja - everything is close (restaurants, shops, church), and yet the home feels secluded. We didn't get the chance to get to know the owner, but he was reachable on the phone and very helpful. We loved the place and definitely recommend it to other travelers.
Nice room and hotel facilities, good and various food, renovated pool, very nice saunas (4 in total) with an outdoor jacuzzi. Reception was nice, agile and helpful.
Super friendly staff. Extremely clean. Fully equipped kitchen in the hotel room and an additional on the ground floor of the house. Great value for the money paid.
