The cafe and bar downstairs are really awesome, where you can check in your bags, if you arrive early or if you want to hang around on the island without carrying the luggage.

So many different restaurants close early or don't even open...

So many different restaurants close early or don't even open for days. Restaurants run out of food and there's no way to know ahead of time. Everything is overpriced and honestly not even worth it , just stay on mainland. Flamenco beach looked nothing like the pictures. The taxi companies are so unreliable. They'll leave you out there waiting for hours and constantly tell you they're coming when they are not. The home rentals are just ridiculous.

A relaxed island getaway!

A relaxed island getaway! This island is truly stunning and worth staying longer than just a daytrip. There are great restaurants, the beaches are phenomenal, everybody is super kind and the vibe is laid back and chill. It’s truly paradise that offers great snorkeling, too. A rental car/golf cart is recommended if you stay for several days as taxi prices rack up quickly and the island is only walkable in the downtown area. Coffee at Blac Flamingo was phenomenal and we had a great dinner at Susie’s restaurant as well.

Beautiful gem of an island.

Beautiful gem of an island. We loved riding around in golf cart. People are friendly but since it is a tourist island, perhaps have slightly guarded demeanor until you prove you are a reasonable group. Golf carts sell out super fast, so go super early to rent if you have not rented already. Heather's place was wonderful- serves great quality food. Pan Cafe has wonderful sugar doughnuts and food. We loved Flamenco and Tamarindo beach. If snorkeling and not a great swimmer, be sure to get life jackets with snorkel equipment at the town center shop.

It certainly is beautiful, but small, and fun things to do are in specific places. And natural features like Playa Flamenco and snorkeling places that can't be duplicated, but require advance knowledge and planning. Plan ahead. Check Weather/storm impacts. Hurricane waves made the beaches unswimmable and full of seaweed. A lot of this island is ugly, smelly, tight, bumpy roads in between the nice beautiful places. Rent a real car unless you only have 2 - 3 specific destinations, then use Taxis, but research the hours and days of things you want, including rentals, in advance. Roads are tight, bumpy, and lots of very steep hills and curves. If you want a more actual touristy experience and freedom to improvise, try Vieques I think.

Unfortunately alot of seaweed on the beach. However once you get pass the Seaweed the water is perfect, just thr right temperature. Our issue is, JUST about all the shops were closed Sunday early evening. No real night life..

Culebra is a wonderful island experience-- Flamenco Beach is beautiful. When there, try to visit Culebrita (a tiny island off its coast reachable by a quick boat ride-- H2O) that has Tortuga Beach, even more beautiful. A good stay is 2 nights/3 days.

Location was on hill. Excellent for star gazing location. Quiet, peaceful, clean, spacious location that is best to have a rental car or jeep to move around unless you intend to stay in the property with everything you will need. Enough parking area for more than one car. 2 bathrooms with showers, enough toilet papers, towels, toilets and vanities plus an outside shower head in case you go to the beach and need to get rid of sand and dirt. You need to take your own soap, shampoo. NO beach towels, no beach chairs, no water toys available.
