It was the best lodging I had in 10 days of touring around Puerto Rico. Neri and Idelfonso were warm and welcoming, and the location is stunning. There's a river right outside! The facilities in the apartment suited our needs perfectly. I would have gladly stayed longer.

This experience exceeded my expectations. I landed in San Juan and drove to Adjuntas, it took about 2 hours to get there, the road has curves and hills, so be careful if you are not an experienced driver. Once we got there, the owner explained everything to me in perfect english, we let them know that we were getting there a bit late, but the room was still available, we got there close to midnight. Ambiance: Chill and relax, you can hear crickets and what I think was an owl at night. During the day birds will be chirping and flying around the hacienda. Views: to the mountains, beautiful landscapes as you are surronded by mountains and the sky looks like a paint. So blue and so clear. Room: we had a villa with a hammock in the front, as per the rest of villas. We had one TV, one coffee maker, one mini fridge, hot water, a steamer, one AC, a drying rag, toiletrees, toilet paper, shower towels and pool towels, hangers, two night stands with a lamp each. We also had high speed WiFi. Breakfast: was scrambled eggs, with ham and some toast, coffee that you could serve yourself, and juice that you could order for free. Staff: great, friendly and helpful. Only one person I could say wasn't as devoted as the rest. They also have a bar called ''Las Tablas Gastrobar'' that you can access to through the same compund. Activities: there is a river, right outside the hacienda, called ''Charco La Luna'', where you can swim and snorkel, if you are skilled enough. The water is cold and fresh. Not too far from there, about 12 minutes up in the hills, you can find other areas of the same river, there are several waterfalls, one of them called ''Cascada El Ataud'', and a bit further up you can find ''El Lago Garzas''. In the hacienda they have a horses' stable, ducks, peacocks, et You can also go into town about 5 mins from the hacienda, and explore the main square and the businesses around it.

We loved our stay at the Cabaña! The location was enjoyable for us and we liked being next to the Finca where there where chickens/roosters roaming freely! The kitchen had great utensils (all stainless steel!) and a gas stove which we loved. The bed was so comfortable to me, I slept so well both nights. The AC units work great, but we didn't use the one downstairs because we opened up both sets of doors and the breeze was wonderful! This is a very special place and I can't recommend it enough. Carlos was very helpful and attentive. We love finds like this!

Utuado is a beautiful and peaceful destination, perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with nature. I enjoyed walking to La Ceiba, exploring the river, and simply having the space to slow down and be present. If you’re looking for tranquility, natural beauty, and a more intentional experience away from the city, this is the place to go.

We came to Utuado to go to Casa Grande specifically. Did not really see much of the town. Perhaps, some information on local attractions would have been nice to see but once on location, we were happy to stay put! Nice hikes on the property - including a beautiful river/waterfalls to explore. There was terrific on-site yoga classes daily. Wonderful teacher!

This area is beautiful.

This area is beautiful. The mountains are calming and relaxing. We loved listening to the coquis at night (the Puerto Rican tree frogs) and walking around, enjoying the flowers by day. The pool was a treat also.

Utuado is a huge and remote place, but the roads were fairly maintained. If you want to go to Casa Grande is because you are thinking of staying there most of the time. Could be nice a brochure with things to do in nearby areas, although you want to settle there for some days. I wish the major promotes quiet, peace, and relaxation.

It was wonderful to have a car to drive around the area but the roads are a bit narrow and winding. We experienced wonderful waterfalls in the area and away from the crowds of El Yunque rainforest in the east. A wonderful restaurant on the drive down to Utuado from Arecibo is the restaurant Hijos del Josco. It was easy to get there. It was delicious, authentic, and friendly. We also enjoyed the meals at Casa Grande. Even though we aren’t vegan we don’t mind a full vegetarian meal and enjoyed their creative authentic meals. Someone gave them a low score on their breakfast but we found them lovely amd delicious.

Beautiful mountain community.

Beautiful mountain community. Not fast paced; island living to be sure. Lake and river activities plentiful as are island treasured historical and majestic spots, i.e., Ventana de Arecibo, Taino Indians Ceremonial Park, coffee plantation with tasting. As a matter of fact, I've tasted Jamaican, Hawaiian and Asian grounds; the best coffee in the world comes from the mountains of Utuado!
