This 18th century farmhouse offers an outdoor pool and a lush garden filled with chestnut and oak trees. The hotel was charming, clean and beautiful! Kept at the aesthetic of the surroundings, it was wonderful to stay here. However, the best .... the best was the people, the staff. They were nice, mind-opened and very, very thoughtful with a communication misunderstood. Top! Thank you all! For everything but I underline this specific situation, I will come back for sure! You won a fan :)
Hotel S. Pedro is a modern hotel in the center of Arouca, offering contemporary rooms and suites and a rooftop bar with views of the surrounding hills. The rooms at Hotel S. Practically everything! It's incredible, in a place away from the big cities to have such facilities and staff.
Offering garden views, Casa de Vilarinho in Arouca has accommodations, a shared lounge and a garden. The bed and breakfast features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Very nice location surrounded by mountains. For us it was good that we had a possibility to prepare breakfast by ourselves when we wanted (all the products were in the fridge). Everything was fine, room was clean, quiet atmosphere. It is close to nature objects in Arouca Geopark.
Featuring an outdoor pool, Quintãs Farm Houses in Arouca provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. Everything. What an amazing place. Great surprise in our trip in Portugal. Stayed for only 1 night but wish we could stay longer. Thank you for this awesome experience and wonderful hospitality !!! We highly recommend.
Featuring a garden and a terrace, Arouca Guest House has accommodations in Arouca with free WiFi and garden views. Guests have a private patio. I travelled to Arouca with my mom to walk Pacadicos do Paiva, which was absolutely fantastic! We were looking for a nice cosy place to stay for one night, and Arouca guest house made the trip as amazing as it was! The owner was so friendly and accommodating. The room was super comfortable and the garden was peaceful with a very comfortable hammock and deck chairs. Very close to city centre, the room was exactly what and where we wanted! the owner had given us a lovely selection of teas with a kettle in the room, and a massive fruit bowl and water in the fridge. I would definitely go back to Arouca and stay in this guest house every time!!! loved it!!!
Casa Do Pinto offers accommodations in Arouca. Porto is 44 mi from the property. Free private parking is available on site. There is a private bathroom with a bath or shower and bidet in every unit. Staff was superb, the nicest really. The lodge is beautiful, very well refurbed, preserving its traditional stone structure with a modern touch, and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was delightful and super filling for the intense activities we did whilst in Arouca. The Mountain view was great and the property is always clean and tidy.
Located in Arouca, Praça Guest House provides free WiFi. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The property has a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. My wife and I were the only people there during the off season in Arouca. However, Ana contacted us beforehand and told us how to let ourselves in and she was available by phone if we needed her. The property is very well maintained and our room was lovely and larger than expected. There is also a very nice communal kitchen and common area. Very centrally located and highly recommended.
With an outdoor swimming pool and stunning greenery surrounding it, the Quinta do Pomar maior is an eco-friendly property located in Arouca. We chose this place because of the beautiful modern architecture. It did not disappoint. To the contrary, it is even more impressive than the photos. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - couldn't be better!
Set in a kiwi and blueberry producing farm, Quinta de Anterronde is a 15th-century property located in Santa Eulália, Arouca. The accommodations features a romantic garden and an outdoor pool. The Quinta de Anterronde is a beautifully restored stone building in a lovely setting. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. We chose to stay here as it was close to the Paiva Trail. The farm has various fruits growing on the property as well as beautiful flowers. The figs and kiwis were our favorites. Breakfast was provided each morning and we had 2 great dinners in the town of Arouca. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Quinta de anterronde.
I was mostly in between nature. As long as it's kept like this and the aesthetic of the place is maintained ... all is great! :) Fortunately, because of this, I didn't see many modern houses, which was great!!! :))
Awesome mountains, the passadiços do Paiva, a structure built in 2015 in the mountains along Rio Paiva, between Areinho and Espiunca, provide a different perspective of the impressive valley landscape and it’s an accessible activity to all ages. It has an interesting historical and geological footprint that we were unable to properly explore due to time constraints. Above all, it is the perfect spot for adventurous souls, with many year round outdoor activities and extreme sports. Besides the typical hiking in the mountains that provide astonishing views, in Espiunca and other spots in the Geopark, you’ll be able to go either rafting, canoeing or kayaking in white waters, with rapids that vary from grade II-V, in Rio Paiva, from Oct-Apr. Kayak lovers might get impressed with the quality of the rapids. In the summer (May-Oct) there’s canyoning, rappel and many other sports that will allow you to make the most of your trip and get a different nature perspective. I did rafting with Clube do Paiva, and strongly recommend it. I intend to return for some Canyoning. Last but not least, the food is unbelievable. As it’s in the north of Portugal, the portions are hugeee, and the traditional vitela -beef- raised in the mountains, is to die for, with great restaurants around the mountainous area. Well worth a visit!
An interesting quite and nice town, with lots of cultural places, and quite nice gastronomic facilities. Ideal to visit, special on what the environmental surroundings are concerned. Full of night interesting events during festive seasons...

The apartment was well located near the city center. We were warmly welcomed and there were buttercookies, grapes and coffee milk for us in the kitchen. The apartment was beautifully furnished and decorated, and we had there everything we needed for our stay. Everything was sqeaky clean. All in all, it was a wonderful stay, and we hope to return some day! I recommend doing the Paiva Walkways hike, if staying in Arouca, it was amazing!
What a special spot. You are surrounded by woodland, with wildflower meadows closeby and a cosy stone cottage and a range of patios to enjoy a morning coffee or fire up a bbq for dinner. We spent a blissful week surrounded by birds and butterflies. Our host Ana and her team were wonderful and so hospitable. The cottage had everything we needed, and it was easy to drive into Arouca for supplies. We loved it.
Amazing hospitality and responsiviness The appartment was new, very clean and well decorated. Very well equiped with all utilities. The bed was very confortable. The bathrooms were great. Everything as aspected. Difinitly a reference in Arouca we recommend !
The decor is very special, the house is clean and comfortable, the host very welcoming and helpful. Its a great location too, being close enough to shops and restaurants in nearby Arouca and lots of wonderful walks in nearby Serra da Freita. Would stay again!
The property was extremely clean and pleasant in a very quite and tranquil parte of Arouca. The lady of the house, D. Deolinda was a perfect hostess always frindly and available. We loved the daily fresh home baked cakes. Highly recommended.
The surprise of finding an incredible property in the middle of Arouca, with fabulously friendly staff who where keen to make us feel at home. Our small children adored the experience. We will be back.
Amazing view, but try to book the front mountain view. It's a new hotel and everything was clean and new. There is a big open kitchen.
We were very well received, everything was properly explained. The place was superbly clean. It's right in the center of Arouca.
The hosts were very personable, the building and the yard were fabulous. Arouca is a very interesting area with lots to explore.
Central location right at the town square of Arouca. Café/Bar is just downstairs.
Best place in Arouca
We weren´t quite sure what to expect as we have never booked accommodation and had to share it with the owner. Fatima was lovely! She puts her heart and soul into her property and looking after guests. Although you are sharing a house you have your privacy exactly the same as if you were in a hotel room except you have alot more space. Very kid friendly and if you are traveling with animals this is the place. A 10 minute walk into town, Fatima makes sure you eat in all the right places. Arouca is only small but the Geopark is gorgeous, there are alot of activities you can do in the surrounding areas.
Location and owner. Pedro is a very kind man that makes you feel at home. We had a great stay and were sad to leave again. Definitely recommend this place if you are searching for a peaceful and relaxing place in the mountains
