Hotel S. Pedro is a modern hotel in the center of Arouca, offering contemporary rooms and suites and a rooftop bar with views of the surrounding hills. The rooms at Hotel S. I enjoyed the view from the room . The size of the room perfect and bathroom too.Breakfast very good . The air condition and WIFI worked to perfection.
Located in Arouca, Casa de Vilarinho has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. Late check-in ( around midnight) with warm welcome. That pretty much describes how nice and helpful our hosts are. House was sparkling clean, bed is top comfort before the Passadiços Paiva super adventure. Waking up on the mountains to the sound and breath of mother nature is priceless. Needless to say that being 2km away from Passadiços entrance is an huge advantage.
Located in Arouca, Casa do Casal provides air-conditioned accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. Perfect place to rest away from the busy areas. Superb views over Serra da Freita while resting on the balcony and close enough to Arouca with its historical sightings.

Featuring a garden and a terrace, Arouca Guest House has accommodations in Arouca with free WiFi and garden views. Guests have a private patio. I travelled to Arouca with my mom to walk Pacadicos do Paiva, which was absolutely fantastic! We were looking for a nice cosy place to stay for one night, and Arouca guest house made the trip as amazing as it was! The owner was so friendly and accommodating. The room was super comfortable and the garden was peaceful with a very comfortable hammock and deck chairs. Very close to city centre, the room was exactly what and where we wanted! the owner had given us a lovely selection of teas with a kettle in the room, and a massive fruit bowl and water in the fridge. I would definitely go back to Arouca and stay in this guest house every time!!! loved it!!!
Casa Do Pinto offers accommodations in Arouca. Porto is 44 mi from the property. Free private parking is available on site. There is a private bathroom with a bath or shower and bidet in every unit. With an outdoor swimming pool and stunning greenery surrounding it, the Quinta do Pomar maior is an eco-friendly property located in Arouca. We chose this place because of the beautiful modern architecture. It did not disappoint. To the contrary, it is even more impressive than the photos. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - couldn't be better!
Awesome mountains, the passadiços do Paiva, a structure built in 2015 in the mountains along Rio Paiva, between Areinho and Espiunca, provide a different perspective of the impressive valley landscape and it’s an accessible activity to all ages. It has an interesting historical and geological footprint that we were unable to properly explore due to time constraints. Above all, it is the perfect spot for adventurous souls, with many year round outdoor activities and extreme sports. Besides the typical hiking in the mountains that provide astonishing views, in Espiunca and other spots in the Geopark, you’ll be able to go either rafting, canoeing or kayaking in white waters, with rapids that vary from grade II-V, in Rio Paiva, from Oct-Apr. Kayak lovers might get impressed with the quality of the rapids. In the summer (May-Oct) there’s canyoning, rappel and many other sports that will allow you to make the most of your trip and get a different nature perspective. I did rafting with Clube do Paiva, and strongly recommend it. I intend to return for some Canyoning. Last but not least, the food is unbelievable. As it’s in the north of Portugal, the portions are hugeee, and the traditional vitela -beef- raised in the mountains, is to die for, with great restaurants around the mountainous area. Well worth a visit!
An interesting quite and nice town, with lots of cultural places, and quite nice gastronomic facilities. Ideal to visit, special on what the environmental surroundings are concerned. Full of night interesting events during festive seasons...

Amazing pool, set against green backdrop of wooded hills. Perfect combination of hot and cool. Rooms were light and airy, balcony sun-drenched. If it gets too hot, switch on air-conditioning or hang out on the stone-built ground floor. Nearby Arouca - what a delightful town. Great restaurants and all the supplies you need. The wonderful Patricia met us promptly with keys and invaluable information about the house and local area. Thank you!

It was all together a fantastic place. Cookies and portwine was given to us when we arrived. 30 minutes drive to beautiful "passadico do Paiva" and 15 minutes to the cute town of Arouca with a couple of supermarkets. Across the road from the house there's a small path through the forest. It's a 30 minutes linear walk that was perfect for our dog. He could also walk off lead the whole time.

Staff was superb, the nicest really. The lodge is beautiful, very well refurbed, preserving its traditional stone structure with a modern touch, and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was delightful and super filling for the intense activities we did whilst in Arouca. The Mountain view was great and the property is always clean and tidy.

The staff was very nice. The location of the hotel is perfect and the accommodations are fine. The breakfast is good and have enough variety of food. To get to know the attraction of the region (for example, Passadiços do Paiva) it is the best option to stay 2 or 3 nights.
