Located in Castro Laboreiro, Just Natur Guesthouse has accommodations with free WiFi and a shared lounge. Incredibly gracious hosts, Sonia and António opened their home to us and shared their detailed knowledge of the area and offered excellent suggestions of sites to visit! My only wish is that we had more time to spend in there. Highly recommend a visit to this amazing area and a stay with these two wonderful people!

Featuring a garden with a sun terrace, Casa da Macheta is a detached holiday home located in Castro Laboreiro, a village in Peneda-Gerês National park. The silence, people from the town (very open), the house is really perfect. The hosts are very helpfull and friendly.
Excellent for a short break. Way marked paths surrounding the village and too the local castle ruins. Choice of accommodation and places to eat. Examples of traditional mountain life in the surrounding areas.
My fiancee and I hiked the Trilho castrejo. Which is a beautiful well marked trail that combines the beauty of the Peneda Geres national park with the charm of the old towns in the area and even takes you over 3 very pretty medieval-styled foot bridges. We didn't have enough time in town to go visit the Castro up in the hill overlooking the town, but it looked worthwhile We ate at the onlyl restaurant in town. The food was not great and it tended to be too salty and oily, but the prices were reasonable. Getting to Castro Laboreiro is easy enough if you have your own car or a rental. It's a windy road through mountains, and quite scenic.

The small stone house is located right beside a small river and in walking distance to Castro Laboreiro. The house is amazing: Neat, clean, very well equiped, the bed is very comfortable, a terrasse for breakfast in the sun or BBQ at night and a fire place in case it gets chilly in the evening. We did our reservation on the day of check-in and the house was ready within 3 hours. We had two wonderful nights! Thanks a lot Sofia!

The house was very comfortable and in a magical location. The highland area around Castro Laboreiro is magical - like Jack-in-the-beanstalk land; totally different to the lowlands below. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms comfortable. Having two bathrooms was great.
