Historical city with many good features such as the castle. Very good variety of places to eat. Christmas time in Leiria is particular pleasant. The Christmas decorations are spectacular. There are lots of rides and entertainment for children as well.
Leiria has a nice historic center which is worth a walk. It also has a beautifully landscaped area around the river along its entire length. Pleasant cafes and restaurants (Street R. Dr. Correia Mateus is full of great restaurants). You can spend 2-3 beautiful days here, a week seemed too long to me. It has good and frequent transport connections, a bus station right in the center. It was 50 minutes by bus to Nazaré.
A great quiet old town with lots of places of interest (of historical significance), museums, exhibitions, archaeological excavation sites, galleries, etc. There is a lot of well-preserved historical architecture either, manifesting the vein of 'Old Europe'. Lots of parks for a walking and hiking, equipped with bicycle tracks, old gothic-stylish cemetery. For those who may be longing for 'civilisation' (as I usually do either) there is a huge Leiria Shopping centre with everything needed. As well as there's Lidl (or two) in the city. Worth visiting either for short vacation or as a place of historic sightseeing.
We stayed in Leiria for 3 nights, which was about right. It is a working town with a flowing river, a nice old quarter, a few good value restaurants, and an imposing castle. Take a local bus to visit the monastery/church of Batalha
Small and cozy city with everything I need in walkable distances (for walk lovers. Amazing food places like Adega das Francesinhas with view to the Castle if you have the luck to have a free table outside.
Leiria is a big city but nice one. Driving to the castle its nice. But you can park down. Next to the big church and visit it. Then go up walking to the castle. You can breath history. This castle is in a very good conditions. All very clear information. Staff great. Beautifull for pics. Walk. Learn. Castle with very personal characteristics. Just love it
The room was perfect. I requested 2 single beds as I was travelling with my son, and this is what we got. The view from the roof top was amazing. The hotel is centrally located in Leiria and easy to get to everything we wanted. The staff were all very friendly and we were able to leave our bags with them before and after check in/out so we could explore the town at our ease. The breakfast was a lovely continental spread, all very tasty and fresh.
Good location, only a short walk to the historical centre. The parking was good and close by. The staff were excellent. Breakfast was good, only continental, but plenty of it. The staff were very attentive asking if we wanted more breakfast. Overall a good stay and a nice hotel. Leiria itself is very nice with good restaurants at reasonable prices and plenty of places to visit.
Leiria
The entire staff was extremely nice, friendly & extremely helpful. The room & bathroom were very roomy & clean. Bed was very firm but not uncomfortable. We were on the 7th floor and had a beautiful view of the Leiria Castle up on the hill. Breakfast was also an excellent value. Good selection of food & drinks. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent. Everything that you would expect in a continental hotel. Good choice of breakfast items. Staff were very happy to help you and have a good working relationship with each other. Nothing worse then staff arguing and bickering with each other.
The house was big, very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. The views and surroundings were beautiful and it only took a quick 5-7 minutes drive to Leiria. Victor was welcoming and friendly and gave us a tour of the house. Would recommend.
Leiria
The hotel was wonderful, including the breakfast. The hostess happily prepared breakfast very early. As we needed to go to the airport. The location is kind of remote and the area suits nature lovers in a beautiful hilly area.
Very well located, right in the city center. Very comfortable, nice atmosphere. Staff super attentive and friendly. The hotel shows a high care with cleaning. Breakfast is complete. Wifi works very well. All 5 stars.
Leiria
The hosting was exceptional. Lovely spacious rooms with en suite shower rooms completely clean and hygienic. Breakfast was second to non. All beautifully presented with home made bread, puddings and croissant.
A small hotel with a very popular restaurant. Well situated for day trips to the monasteries and the coast. Offstreet parking in a pleasant pool area make for an enjoyable stay.
Excellent location and a very comfortable room. Super excellent cost-value ratio. I have stayed at hotels that cost 3 times as much and weren't as comfortable
Leiria
Good location, only 5 mins walk to middle of Leiria, large off road car park spaces. The room was clean, large and well appointed. Good sized shower room too.
Confortable bed and great view from the window. Decent size room. Amazing view over the Leiria castle from the last floor, where the breakfast is served.
This is the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept in. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great place to sleep.
