Very comfortable room with heat! On the cold, wet, rainy day we arrived this was a welcome and somewhat unexpected treat (many places in Portugal do not have heat). The concept of the house, spacious rooms around a courtyard in a wonderfully renovated old building, has been done quite well. Super location for seeing all of historic Santarém. Convenient parking garage down the street. Hotel is located in a nice shopping district. The place was so great and comfortable we booked a night on our return journey.

The house was very clean and had all the necessary amenities (e.g. even though both bathrooms were shared, it didn't feel like it). The kitchen is spacious and the breakfast is simple and good. The neighborhood is calm and the location OK - accessible by bus. The room itself is specious and well organizaded - having a balcony gave it extra points. We only needed to contact the host for additional requests. He was very accessible and thoughtful, trying to acommoate our individual needs.
