Only went into Seia once during our stay but wished we'd spent more time there. Difficult time to review things because of all the restrictions at the moment. Recommend Taberna to eat, great food and lovely service.
Perfect getaway from busy life. At the foothills of serra de estrela, the tiny villages, especially Sandomil, was a great break. The hosts at Sandomil RiverBeach Nest were fantastic. The house by the river is relaxing and zen. I would definitely come back.
Quiet, calm, pleasant and spacious city, many shops and offices, you can solve any issue, from shoe repair to laptop repair. There are 3 interesting and unique museums (Bread, hydropower and toys), several good roads to the mountains, clear water in the tap, a lot of forests and springs. Good Italian, Neapolitan pizzeria in the city center with an outgoing owner and quality pizza.
I love to have lunch in the restaurant of Museu do Pão, (The Bread Museum), in Seia. Great food and great surroundings. Its a buffet of starters and deserts and there's a fish dish and a meat dish included in the menu for 19,50€. Its a great place to try the local wonders.
our cottage was lovely. unfortunately it was a too hot for much walking but it is a wonderful area to visit. i would definatley return. didn't like the selling of the puppies on the road sides but they did seem happy and cared for. nice bread delivered to the door each morning. good walk from outside the door or go up to the dam and have a stroll from behind the shop and let the dogs (or you) cool of in the water. surprisingly lovely area.
Well situated to explore the mountains, the bread museum is very good and close to town, plenty of shops and a big supermarket. Not easy to park in town and the one way system will confuse on the first day. Better to park and walk then you can sample all the local cheese and honey on offer.
