The town is the administrative centre for a group of...

The town is the administrative centre for a group of villages, with a museum, town hall and the usual shops, including three large supermarkets. Tondela is spread along a steep hill on Route N2. There is access to the Ecopista da Dao cycleway which stretches for 48 km along a former railway track, now asphalted. Nearby is the remarkable Museu do Caramulo with a wonderful collection of historic and classic cars and motorcycles.

Tondela is a small town but has everything you could need.

Tondela is a small town but has everything you could need. They have a football ground, bus station, a lovely park and the people are very friendly. It is easy to walk around the town which is just as well as no public transport. I have eaten at a few places in the town and have never had bad food either in snack bars or restaurants. I can recommend Joaninha's for coffee, snacks and pastries, and also Green's in the park for light snacks and drinks. The Vintage Caffe is great for meals and 3 Pipos just outside town for a special meal.

Tondela is a small town about 90 minutes from Porto.

Tondela is a small town about 90 minutes from Porto. I originally stayed as my son and daughter in law had a flat there whilst looking for property. There are plenty of restaurants and takeaways, shops and a lovely little park as well as a public swimming pool. There is a weekly market and everyone seems to be very friendly. It is a great base for a walking/cycling holiday especially with the Ecopista da Dao on the doorstep and cities such as Porto, Viseu and Coimbra not too far away or visits to the beaches at Aveiro or Figuera da Foz.

The view from the hotel is nice, the breakfast was ok, the rooms were cozy and clean, I liked the balcony overlooking the valley. Parking was ok. There is also a pool, but we didn´t used it, there are quite a few steps to go down to the pool.

Excellent, scenic location, breathtaking views of the countryside. Close to Tondela, Viseu, and surrounding areas. Caroline was lovely, accommodating, and hospitable, and the apartment and pool were meticulous and really well finished.

Lovely hotel with excellent outdoor pool.didnt see much of the town as arrived late but recommended a nice restaurant a couple of hundred metres down the road
