We were impressed by the greatness of the walls, the Coronation Cathedral and the Church of St. Michael. Inside the Alba Carolina fortress, museums can be visited, concerts are held and festivals take place periodically. You can walk among the impressive walls of the fortress either on foot or with a rented bicycle.

Alba Iulia is a city full of history and charm, and I was thoroughly impressed by everything it has to offer. The highlight of the city is undoubtedly the Alba Carolina Fortress, a beautifully preserved historical site where you can walk through centuries of Romanian history. The atmosphere in the city is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly locals and a vibrant cultural scene. I also appreciated the mix of old and new, where modern amenities are seamlessly integrated into a setting rich with heritage. The city is clean, well-organized, and offers plenty of cafes, restaurants, and parks to enjoy. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, or just looking for a pleasant place to visit, Alba Iulia is definitely worth the trip.

Beautiful, full of history, lively and great vibe and places to hang out. 2 places were recommended to us -Dante and Pub 13, both great. And we discovered on our own UNIO Vini, gourmet food, wine and live music. I highly recommend, we even bought a bottle of their wine.

Alba Iulia's walled city was a surprising cluster of food stands and tourist trinket kiosks and rides for children. It was loud and busy. One museum was closed, and the Roman museum had busts of Roman rulers and pillars and other stone objects. Children will love it, but history-seekers might not.

Majestic city built inside a 16th century medieval fortress, keeping all the historical elements it is famous for. Many accomodations to choose from. Some great restaurants and diners. Open air swimming pools are available around the city. Nearby you can also find a forest and a great hilly area which provide a great panoramic view of the city.

Alba Iulia is a touristic town, full of history (the biggest fortress in Romania), with great connections by road ( A10, A1 ) , train or plane ( Sibiu Airport 50 minutes away and Cluj Napoca 1 h. 15 minutes ). There are very good restaurants with reasonable prices - Vila Preciosa or Pub13, for example. Plenty of cultural events are going on, every month. Don't miss the changing of guards on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00. Also, Fridays, at 19.00 there is a Daco - Romans Fighting Show. Don't miss the History Museum and Sala Uniri ( where the unification act was signed on 1st of December 1918 ). There is a new and nice museum for icons - Museikon.ro. The cathedrals - catholic "Sf Mihail" - the oldest and longest in Romania, and orthodox - The Coronation Cathedral, where King Mihai 1 was crowned in 1922. Have fun!
The owner called me and gave clear insructions about how to get there. It was a bit difficult to find for me, but here a tip for the rest of you: The appartment is in the building behind the "Bio Terapia" building
Parking place right in front of the building.
7 minutes to Alba Iulia and many shops at walking distance.
The appartment and building are new and not all appartments are yet occupied. The building in front is still under construction but the construction noise didn't start early when I stayed.
This property was an absolute gem. Impeccably clean with a smart, functional layout, it made for a very comfortable stay. The hospitality was exceptional—truly above and beyond. The amenities were top-notch, covering all the essentials and more. Everything was well-maintained, reflecting the care and attention put into the property. For our stay, it was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended and definitely coming back again when in Alba Iulia.
The accommodation fully corresponds to the published photos. The furnishings and equipment were fully sufficient for a pleasant stay. The apartment is air-conditioned and very clean! The hostess was very responsive, available for our questions, gave us very useful tips for sights, restaurants, entertainment... Thank you Adriana. And the town of Alba Iulia is a small Carpathian pearl!
A clean, welcoming apartment, where we felt like home. Attractions, shops and restaurants are a short walk's distance away. I wouldn't look for a better place in Alba Iulia.
