The room was spacious, clean with a huge window and nice view. There is a garden for sunbathing or barbecue. The owners were extremely kind and provided extra services. The location was good, you could walk to Liptovsky Jan and Janska Dolina or use a car and drive around to visit beautiful places - mountains, museums, spa....

I stayed for 7 nights, and was on a fishing trip. Liptovsky Jan is a very pleasant village in a lovely location. Penzion Maco is very close to the village centre. Nina and Ladislav were extremely friendly, flexible, and kind, and I felt like an old friend rather than a paying guest. I had breakfast, a picnic lunch (filled roll, fruit, water), and dinner every day. All meals were very good and plentiful. My room and all other facilities were very clean. Considering that I had full board, plus a couple of beers each night, I was amazed at how reasonably priced Penzion Maco was (I can't judge how it compared with other accommodation in Slovakia). I should mention that I was bitten by a tick (NOT at Penzion Maco) on one of my fishing trips. I was a bit worried about this, and I explained the problem to Nina and Ladislav when I arrived back at the Penzion in the evening. They did a bit of phoning around, and very quickly Nina took me in her car to the Emergency department at the hospital in nearby Liptovsky Mikulas, even though I had a car of my own. She stayed with me (about 1 hour) while I waited to be seen, and brought me back to the Penzion after the tick had been removed.
