My partner and I stayed in Khao Sok National Park for 3 days. We arrived in Khao Sok via bus and WALKED into town (15 min walk, no need to pay for someone to drive you in!!!) and stayed at Khao Sok Hostel. We booked a lake bungalow tour through Smileys Bungalows and really enjoyed the 2 day 1 night stay there. If you go to Khao Sok the overnight stay is a MUST and there is no sense in only going for the day trip, it is not enough time to soak in the beauty of the area. I would highly recommend visiting Khao Sok if you are in Phuket it is cheap and easy to get there via bus. Keep in mind the lake house tours range anywhere from 2500 baht to 2800 baht. It's worth it! Note: we went at the beginning of February, we found there to be very few mosquitos and as it is the dry season there weren't many (if any) waterfalls to see.
I was only in the area for 3 days, but I would have loved to stay longer to explore deeper into the park. The more impressive waterfalls are farther off the main trail. Hotels will tell you that you need a guide to go off the main trail, but I learned that is not exactly true - just make sure you bring a map and maybe GPS. Cheow Lan Lake is very much worth a visit! I did an overnight trip at a raft house and hiked through an amazing cave. A must for the adventurous type!
Best part of our Thailand trip was the 2 day trip to Cheow Lake. It's the kind of trip that feeds your the soul of those seeking breathtaking scenery, adventure, peace, and a glimpse into jungle life!
We enjoyed a longtail boat on the beautiful lake and s trek thru the jungle into a cave. Another day we went hiking on our own and enjoyed swimming in the river. Also opportunities to spend a day with elephants. We recommend the elephant care places and not riding the elephants.
The hotel is near the national park entrance and they organize the tours you would possible want. The rooms are really clean and the staff is really nice. We took the canoeing experience with the hotel and it had a great value. The food in the hotel is also really nice. We didn't had the time to try the breakfast because we left to early.
Khao Sok is a fantastic place to go to. A National Park with some eco friendly hotels or guesthouses or resorts. The highlight for me was the Cheow Lan Lake. It is an artificial lake, but stunningly beautiful. The trip we took was well organized but not very touristy. The raft house we stayed at was actually quite basic. I cannot remember the name. We went with Our Jungle House. There is an Elephant Sanctuary too. Was well worth a visit; I guess kids would love it. And we did some tubing down the river. Really cool. Maybe overall it is just the nature, the flowers, the sounds, the smells. A totally overwhelming experience.

Surrounded by nature! Fruit and veg tress all over the place (veg garden). The owner/staff were the nicest people we came across in Thailand! We received a free upgrade which was really nice. Extremely helpful, everything you need at reception area (tours, onsite restaurant). Short cut through the jungle to the main strip in Khao Sok (5-7min walk) and the resident German Shepard 'Mr Coke' will guide you. Thank you Kong for the experience.

It has to be Sunny, the host! Like the name suggests... He's a ball of sunshine to be with! He was more worried about me missing dinner than me getting money from the ATM to pay him. He helps u with everything so u can just chill n not worry about making plans. It also has the softest bed I have had in hostels by far! No double decks. Even a full set of toiletries and artfully folded towels! If u r ever in Khao Sok, u have to stay here!!

The staff was truly awesome! They were warm, welcoming, available, and very helpful. The activities we booked through the hotel were so fun; all the guides were amazing. We even booked our car transport and ferry to the islands through them and it was easy and completely hassle free. Also, I’m kinda of a clean freak and this Resort was always clean and fresh.

Beautiful area, cozy cottages, best customer service I've had in Thailand in 3 years!!! Excellent value for what you pay. Food is cheap and really good. Nice mosquito nets. Bathrooms with the open roof are beautiful. We did the lake and raft house independently and they were able to give us ample advice to help us get there.

The woman owner works very hard to make sure you have an excellent stay. I'm a single mom of an 11year old son. I had no time to preplan for the trip. When we got there had lots of help from her. Did canoeing, her zipline, The highlight was white sands Beach an hour way in which she suggested and arranged a taxi. It was great we swam and used pool table. The food was great and they were accommodating us hamburgers for breakfast special drinks. Staff was super. They were fantastic. We used her bikes to zip around to town. When we arrived she took us in car to get cash and groceries FYI bring cash there. Rooms were clean. Beds super comfortably with cotton sheets. Aircon and WiFi all worked great. Highly recommend this place. It's like Glamour camping. Short 5 min bike ride to the park. I hiked it twice. It was fantastic
