FAQs about hotels in Khao Sok National Park

About Khao Sok

Khao Sok is a small village nestled in the heart of Thailand. Known for its tropical rainforest climate, temperatures here typically range from 70°F to 90°F year-round. Rainfall is abundant, especially between May and November, making the landscape lush and vibrant.

This village is a gateway to the Khao Sok National Park, a popular destination for hiking, wildlife spotting, and canoeing. The park is home to the majestic Cheow Lan Lake and Rafflesia flowers, the largest in the world. While there's no local public transportation, walking or renting a car are viable options for getting around.

The culture in Khao Sok is deeply rooted in nature, with many locals involved in eco-tourism. The regional cuisine is a delightful mix of Thai flavors. A must-try is the 'Gaeng Som', a sour curry dish typically served with rice and local vegetables. The surrounding rainforest and limestone mountains provide a serene backdrop to this charming village.

This place seems to have become quite touristic.

This place seems to have become quite touristic. The one day tour is a sham. Long time traveling with some quick stops to take a quick picture. The cave is just walking in line to see a few bats. The jungle tour is just a hike though the jungle up a creek. All the animals have left here as probably 1000 people crush this path every day. I guess if you want to see some raw nature you have to hire a private guide for more days and go deeper and wait until all the day trippers have left.

A lovely spot, staff was excellent.

A lovely spot, staff was excellent. Meals were very reasonable and VERY fresh ingredients, lots of options. Lots of sitting areas, a pool and a “sky walk” constructed outside the main entrance for guests.

The one day lake tour at the national park was amazing.

The one day lake tour at the national park was amazing. Going with a boat to go lunch, swim and walk. The walk was great. You have to wear closed shoes because you are going to get really wet until your belly button. The town khao sok was not much. It was 1 street. But it was cozy. The khao sok homestay resort is a place I would not recommend. It was also very far from the town

Khao Sok is very much worth a visit and is a unique experience compared to other places in Thailand. It is also very family-friendly and attracts more relaxed tourists who enjoy nature and outdoor activities.

Khao Sok is a beautiful national park with lush rainforest, towering limestone formations seen nearby rivers and at Cheow Lan lake and a variety of wildlife. It is a stunning place to visit with lots of nature and activities to do - we went canoeing along a river for a couple of hours and spotted birds, tree frogs, giant lizards and bee hives up on the limestone mountains. Cheow Lan lake is a must - we planned a day trip with Khao Sok private tours, and really enjoyed the longboat ride exploring the lake spotting monkeys and elephants on the shore. We hiked in the jungle and saw many birds and lizards and heard gibbons up in the trees. Swimming in the lake was such a memorable experience in this beautiful and peaceful setting - like soaking in a warm bath! The mekong catfish in the lake (and there are many!) don't come near you when you swim. We stopped off at Panvaree and got to kayak too, which was great fun. The lunch there was outstanding and you can enjoy a quiet meal with beautiful views from the balcony.

The hotel is located beautifully surrounded by nature. The rooms are amazingly decorated. Definitely feels like a haven in the jungle. There are no nets on the windows so geckos came to visit us (we didn’t mind). Bastian the owner was so great and helped us with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend asking for his advice regarding what to do in Khao Sok. The hotel is a bit far from the main road but has a very good restaurant with lots of dishes to choose from and with good prices. We would definitely recommend!

They deserve all the good reviews and credit! We just stayed one night at the resort and then, thanks to the incredible staff, we did an amazing overnight tour at the national park. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming and funny. They organised our overnight tour and the transport to Krabi airport. The room at the resort and the bungalow in the national park were very comfortable and clean. We can highly recommend the Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort! Definitely coming back.

Very close to the national park. We arrived very late at night and check in was not a problem. The bed was not too comfortable but it was great to have AC in the room. We booked tours through the hotel and was well organised. The breakfast was basic and a la carte, but expected for the location and came in good time. The toilet facilities were acceptable and shower was warm. We did not have long at the property but it was generally clean and what was expected of the location.

We stayed for 2 nights only, came from Krabi, first time in Khao Sok. Place is very nice, beautifull garden. Located on the road on the hill. Houses are nice - Thai style cabins in jungle feel like place. People forget that this is 2 star hotel so dont expect luxury. Staff was helpfull - very nice lady on the reception, always willing to help. No water issues. Breakfast were ok - finally normal coffe in Thailand. Overall good stay. Aircondition very nice and quiet.

This is a unique place to stay in Khao Sok! Thanks to the landlady. May treats her guests like friends! She is very helpful finding trips and guides of high quality! Breakfast eas unforgettable! We went four minutes to the charming old Hotel by the lake for dinner! For us that was a perfect end of a day. Anyone going to Khao Sok should get the chance to have a trip on the lake it is so beautiful!! PS! Sorry about some Bangkok photos!!

Food onsite was delicious and reasonably priced, the staff were so lovely and really catered to everyone’s needs and are really helpful when booking the Khao Sok national park tours. Good location, quite close to town. Staff provided me and my friend with bicycles which were great for cycling into town and looking at the views nearby! Toilets and showers were clean and tents were comfy and had electricity and fans.

The staff at the hostel were some of the most hospitable people I've encountered on my travels. The team was so helpful and ready to help me with any questions or problems. The location as well was close to the national park and the surrounding restaurants. Alongside this the provided beds were comfortable and the dorm was spacious. I would highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Khao Sok.

We stayed here for one night and booked our trip to Khao Sok National Park through Chillax. The staff were super accommodating we left our luggage here throughout the trip and could even use the facilities on our return! The room was clean and nicely decorated, with a shared bathroom - great value for money. The hotel also booked our onward travel for us, it was a smooth process and really recommend!

Excellent location near gates to the National Khao Sok Park. Very helpful and kind owner ( hotel is family owned ). Mr. Ea arranged for us a guided hike to see rafflesia flowers and a day long trip on the lake. Both awesome! Tranquility of the place - you can hear the nature around you : sounds of the river, birds, monkeys, frogs, etc. Food served at hotel's restaurant is very tasty and very affordable

We loved the location, a quiet spot close to the entrance of the Khao Sok National Park. Klaus informed us very well about the possible tours and leave the choice with us. When we had decided he arranged everything which we appreciated. The compact appartments are complete, very clean, comfortable and nice decorated. We loved our stay at Khao Sok Jamine Garden and would definitely recommend it.

It was the best resort during our 3-week tour of Thailand. The resort is brand new and adjacent to Khao Sok National Park. The staff was professional and helpful. They solved everything with a smile. Breakfast was very varied with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We also tried guided tours in the national park and bamboo rafting. Great experience. We will definitely be back one day.

Private and cosy cottages in the middle of the forest. Not far from Khao Sok and they even offer free shuttle to there. The staff is so nice and friendly, they helped us to arrange everything from transport to activities. I recommend booking lake tour from the cottages. The guide was funny and the accommodation on the lake was very pretty and comfortable.

Superb hotel in an idyllic setting. The staff were so helpful with everything and we would definitely return if coming back. It’s a little out of town, but we liked that, and we hired a scooter to explore and go into town. I also thoroughly recommend the overnight stay on the lake excursion. It was out of this world.

incredibly helpful and friendly staff, beautiful location (loads of monkeys around), good Wi-Fi and lovely food. I could not recommend more the 2 day tour of the National park which you book at the hotel - everyone who did it said it’s the best thing they did in Thailand and I completely agree

The staff were great for organizing a Khao Sok tour! They even let me borrow water shoes for no charge! They can also hold onto your luggage while you do an overnight tour. It was raining when I got there and they also let me borrow an umbrella to explore the little village.

Nicest staff, excellent breakfast (with a vegan option of avocado toast), and perfect location in Khao Sok Village but also right beside the national park
