Ao Nang Beach (Near Tonsai Beach)
Located on the private Pai Plong Bay, Centara Grand Beach houses beachfront dining options, 2 outdoor pools and a spa. Its rooms offer a private balcony with garden or ocean views. Oh my, such a beautiful secluded area, no road access and therefore no mass tourism walking in. No big hotel building, but many 3 story villas in a monkey national habitat. Better keep the doors closed 🐒🐒🐵.... it is possible to watch monkeys at close distance. The food was just great, as well as the friendlyness and competence of the staff, especially Peow, what a caring and always friendly soul. We had a romantic beach dinner with flowers in a open tent-like setup.... certainly we will be back All is clean, well organized and prepared, staff is speaking good English

Railay Beach (Near Tonsai Beach)
This luxurious resort on East Railay Beach in Krabi is surrounded by the exotic mountain landscape and emerald waves of the Andaman Sea. The kindest most attentive staff. We had everything explained to us clearly with a smile upon arrival such as cleaning, pool fitness and restaurant schedules which I appreciated very much. No questions unanswered. Everyone was smiling and happy to have us stay. The room was such a great value for the price we paid. The pool was lovely and Free the bartender was amazing and became a friend right away informing us of more beauty in his country for us to explore! This was one of my favourite travel experiences in my whole life! So much to do and see and explore on this island and a home like place to rest afterwards. The food was also incredibly good!
I enjoy the peace and quiet and the garden/jungle setting of the resort. I think the only drawback is for senior or less agile visitors in that access is only by long tail boat but if you landed on the 6th of June 1944 in Normandy then you've done it all before at this time nobody is shooting at you. I think most people enjoy the boat rides but be prepared to get wet.
Great for a little day visit but wouldn’t recommend to stay here. Unless you are climbing or want a happy shake then there isn’t much else to do and the area is very basic and not developed enough to cope with the amount of tourists.
The swimming pool was good and cabins as well, the staff was lovely. Insects everywhere during night time but that is usual in the jungle, so just make sure you have your repellent with you. The location is magic, just near to the resort there are a couple of bars where you can chill out with good music in a good environment, there are also flame jugglers. The beach is amazing with a really good view of Railay but quieter than this, there is a path which connects both beaches. Really good place fro climbers too.
Tonsai beach might not be the prettiest in Railay but it’s still my favourite. It’s just so friendly with the best vibe. Loved sitting on the beach, watching the sunset, the evening climbers and the base jumpers.
The kayak trip around the rocks between Railay east and Pranang beach is an absolute must. The caves, the tunnels, the colours of the rocks.... Snorkeling at Ko Poda and Ko Rok is great, so many fish and corals and things to see. The Diamond Cave at Railay was impressive! Who would have expected „curtains“ and „organ pipes“ and „basins“ within these rocks? Walking the jungle trail from Tonsai to Railay is not difficult but such an adventure! The Sunsets from Tonsai are sooo romantic <3 Pranang Beach is probably the nicest beach. Treat yourself with a massage - the aromatic oil after a long journey or a rough ride in the speed boat - with Aloe Vera after a hot day in the sun and for light sunburns - a foot massage after a long walk or while waiting for your transfer to the airport...
So much to do here, went climbing at all the great locations on offer in tonsai and railay. Walked through the jungle and admired the wildlife, went sea kayaking to chicken island and the bars and food are fantastic
