The Museum of Anatolian Civilisations was world class and we spent a full day there. We found it rather diificult to find our way around the old part of Ankara , as in the case of other Turkish cities because of the general lack of street names and the taxi drivers not knowing street names e.g finding the Museum of Anatolian civilisation!.This also effected our abilty to try out restaurants recommended by previous travellers or gude books We also suffered on two occasions from the lack of crossings across busy roads. We decided to walk on the shady side of the road on our walk to the Ethnographical Museum(recommended) and then because we could not cross the road had to walk a liong way out of our way on a hot day. We also suffered from the extensive programe of rennvation going on throughout Turkey, although not as badly as in Ankara, as some other places. However, both The Painting and Sculpture Museum and the Alaeddin Camii mosque were closed for renovation.
I liked the shops, restaurants, views. The traffic is horrible. The drivers do not care for pedestrians even at the official crossings (zebras). You have to run for your life each time you cross the street.
I was there for business, so I can't say I toured any of the sights, but the Metro was cheap and easy to use. Ankara looks and feels like a modern mid-European city with a Turkish flavour. There wasn't a lot to Ankara before the modern era, so it's nothing like Istanbul for history and sights.
Ankara is a good spot for those in the know. Go to Ulus and the Kale. While there, it's a short walk to see the Anatolian Museum of Civilizations, Ethnographic Museum, and a 20-30 minute drive to see the Anitkabir--Ataturk's Mausoleum.
Lots of historical things to see and do. Great food and people very helpful and friendly. Traffic very heavy and people pretty aggressive in their driving style so think twice before hiring a car. Taxis reasonable price. We didnt use public transport so not too sure about that. There are lots of tours available that are reasonably priced.

Nothing. At the time of check out the person.at the counter refused to accept the 622TL inclusive of breakfast. Even after I showed him the booking.com email. He misbehaved and forced us to.pay extra charges for the breakfast. Very unprofessional staff. Nothing boutique about the Hotel. Very ordinary and overpriced.
