Just a 10-minute walk to the seafront, Kiyak Hotel is centrally located in Demre. It offers free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms with a satellite TV and balcony. We were at the hotel only one night, but were satisfied. Pleasant and friendly staff. Clean room. Tasty breakfast. We were allowed to leave things after the eviction in the hotel so that we could walk freely.
Set in Demre, 1.6 mi from Sülüklü Beach, Murat Hotel offers accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge. I REALLY RECOMMEND THE MURAT HOTEL IN DEMRE. The hotel is nice and the staff is really kind. My daughter and I stayed there for one night and had two separate beds. We got up very early to eat breakfast and we saw one of the staff members coming back from the bakery with fresh bread and buns, just for us! This was really sweet to see as it was just after dawn. OVERALL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. IT WAS A LOVELY STAY. 10/10

A traditionally restored stone-and-timber house, Beymelek Tas Evler is located between Demre and Finike on the Lycian Way Hiking Trail. This is a true gem. First, the actual house is from the 1910s, so over 100 years old. The property has an orchard, with many fruit trees, olive, apricots, mulberry, etc. The owner was the Mayor of the nearby town so everyone knows him. His family keeps chickens, pigeons, geese, sheep, goats, etc., and other fowl and animals. Dinner and breakfast were served on a terrace overlooking the ocean and mountains. We were greeted with the owner's home-make wine. Dinner was home-made too. Breakfast included honey from the property. Yes, the owner has bee-hives. And the omelet was from the owner's chickens on the property. In sum, a beautiful place. Natural beauty. Slightly rugged.
Demre has a lot to offer for such a small, not-as-touristy town compared to all the other more touristy towns nearby. Myra ancient city and St. Nicholaus Church are must-see, we also really liked the Sülüklü beach, we had the whole beach to ourselves when we went there!
A sprawling, dusty, bustling market town dominated by plastic wrapped green houses everywhere, Demre is anything but picturesque, but it is one of the ancient centers of Lycian civilization. Once known is Myra, it features some impressive archeological sites, including Lycian tombs, a large Roman amphitheater, and the Basilica of St. Nicholas, a place of pilgrimage for Orthodox Christians.
You have lots of things to do here in Demre: visit to St Nicholas's Basiclica, boat trip to Kekova, exploring ancient cities ruins of Myra and Andriake, and the newly opened Lycian Civilisation Museum. Demre gives you special cultural experiences, which you cannnot have in other places.
Demre - apart from the Myra ruins and Baba Noel Church, make a visit to the Müze and remains of the old port of Andriake. If you haven't got a car or take a taxi, it's about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Demre, but well worth visit, very informative and interesting and good value at 5TL (Nisan 2016).
