The location is what really makes Hotel Euphrat special -- a peaceful mountain view, starry night sky, quiet at night, and only a 20-minute drive to Mt. Nemrut. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean (thank you!), and the showers had wonderfully hot water. The dinner buffet was very flavorful and had good vegetarian options. We also appreciated the staff adding an extra room to our booking at the last minute.

Really lovely stay. Dinner was fantastic. The location cannot be beaten (on the Eastern side). A little about the location... From the eastern side, you can drive up all the way. Saves many steps of walking versus if you stay on the western side. That said, the western side MAY save you some driving depending on where you're coming from (or going to). But still... I liked staying here. It was super easy. It's IMMEDIATELY next door to the gate/entrance where they check your ticket (or where you buy your ticket if you haven't done so already).

Karadut is a village with no special value, except maybe the locality. I think it is worth finding cheaper accommodation further from mountain and come only for one full day - visiting Arsameia and go to Nemrut 2 hours before sunset to avoid extrem number of tourist groups coming especially for sunset. Seljuk - Urartu fortress is currently closed for renovation, but looks nice from little distance.

The owner, Murat, basically came to open just for us, since we were the only two clients those days. Despite the cold, the room was warmed up by a stove and Murat gave us breakfast and dinner everyday. The accomodation is very conveniently placed to do the tour of the area, being literally a few km from Mount Nemrut. I would definitely recommend the place for those of you slightly more adventours and wanting to stay close to the mountains.
