The property is situated in the middle of the old city of Mardin and many visitor attractions are within easy walking distance. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and everything is kept clean. The Turkish breakfast served daily is delicious and lavish. From various breads, cheeses, olives, and spreads to freshly hand cut and fried potatoes to menemen (A delicious egg and vegetable dish) to bottomless cups of Turkish tea, coffee and water, your taste buds will be happy. In addition, there are numerous restaurants and cafes within walking distance, many with rooftop terraces to enjoy the view of the spectacular Mesopotamian landscape. The true treasure of Carra Konağı are the staff. They are attentive, kind, patient and willing to make your stay perfection. The hotel will help organize transport to and from the hotel from Mardin Airport and they provide tour information. They have a driver on staff who will transport you to a variety of tourist attractions farther afield. Mehmet Bey’s attention to detail and his service are exceptional. If you plan to be in Mardin, I highly recommend Carra Konağı and Nuh Bey and his excellent staff. You will not regret booking with this hotel!

I’m an older solo backpacking traveller, &, staying at the Maridin Konagi Hotel for 5 nites, has been one of the highlights of my 2-month journey so far. The property is like a museum. Even B4 check-in, I was welcomed & greeted by its valet Şerif who carried my backpacks to reception (and then to my room).
At reception, I was once again welcomed with a warm smile & shown all the amenities of the hotel by the staff member on duty, Bunyamin. Şerif speaks perfect English and was able to translate everything, all altruistically. The two were a wealth of local information, & offered me tea (cay) every time I passed thru the lobby (along with excellent conversation). I felt like a local.
The facilities were typically limestone-ish Mardin-ish. Great location, room was spacious & airy, shower was consistent with all degrees of water temperature. The property has a busy terrace restaurant at night with live local music. And also a filling Turkish breakfast. And very close by on same street are good espresso-style new modern cafés (coffee shops), if Turkish coffee is not your thing).
In sum, I recommend this property without hesitation & with complete enthusiasm. If you do stay here, make sure to engage in a chat with Şerif to find out anything local. I hope to a return to Maridin Konagi next year.

Mardius Konak is simply excellent. We were greeted by the owner who told us about the story of the Konak which was once their family mansion. Every detail in every corner of the facility reflects elegance, perfectionism and good taste. Breakfast and dinner is amazing, all with local products and recipies. Staying in Mardius Konak is truly a unique experience.

Hotel was listed as having air conditioning and parking. It had neither. Mardin in August is over 45 degrees C and the room was even hotter. The staff clearly stated that they would not charge me for the days I didn't stay (it was unbearable and I prepaid), which was a documented conversation, and they did not refund my money.
