The location is perfect, just a few mins walk to the bus station. Unlike most hotels in Jiufen, this one won't require you to climb up and down a lot of stairs. The path going to old street and bus station is uphill, though (but not a difficult walk). The accommodation is SUPER CLEAN. We were asked to wear indoor slippers and everything inside feels, looks, and smells clean and homey. The rooms are super spacious. The bathrooms are senior friendly and super clean too! The couple manning the place are so nice and helpful.

everything very clean beds were very comfy it was quiet and lots of room to hang around I loved the big long wooden table on the 2nd floor staff even picked me up when I didn't know the way coffee and toast was very nice really liked that I could store my luggage in the room if I ever return here again I will come to this hostel

Everything. The room is nice and pretty spacious for 4 people. The girl who received us was super nice and friendly. The breakfast is also nice too. And the thing we like the most is the location of the house, just follow the instructions and then you just have to walk about 3-5 mins to get to the house without climbing the stairs dragging the luggage.

The ocean views directly from the windows were beautiful. The morning breakfast was simple and light, but since there was so much food in the area to choose from a light breakfast is what you want. The Old Street like a minute walk from the property. So all of the attractions of Jiufen are super close by. Their lobby doubles as a dining area where one night we brought back all of our street food to eat together. I loved this cute hotel and will likely stay in the future when I visit Jiufen.

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and...

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.

Tourist trap.

Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train...

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train station directly to this hotel and cost 270NTB, instead of spending many minutes climbing the stairs and getting lost like I did. I didn't know earlier and wasted a lot of time. But on my way down the host called a taxi for me, saved me the pain of carrying a suitcase down. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, and bring a bath towel if you are used to the hotels in Taipei.

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a...

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

Close to jiufen old street. Clean and friendly staff. Shared facility is very clean and scenic. Staff helped book at taxi for early check out. I highly recommend taking a taxi to this hotel as you’ll have to walk up stairs if you come in by bus.
