They have a bar with what looked like craft beer but i never saw any guests drinking, looked more like a gimmick. Lobby looks nice but different when u go up to the rooms

Taichung is kinda my hometown, the weather is nicer than Taipei and Kaoxiong. Life expense is a little cheaper than Taipei. It's easy to get to parks, shopping malls, very convenient for travelers to walk around either by buses or on foot.

I teach English to Taiwanese adults and was fortunate to have two of my students (on different days) take me to places they wanted to show me. I think there are many interesting places to visit in Taichung.
Since I was in a car with locals, I can't really say what the public transport is like, but from my view, it seemed like there are buses and metro trains everywhere.

Its a city in transition i want to visit it in 5 years or so again to see where it's at. But probably won't stop here again till then, nothing any other city doesn't offer.
WIth that said..... great place to do a day trip for specific things...
If you have 2 days to spare visit and plan your day so you won't waste time. Restaurants open late, they definitely move at a different speed with many places closed Wed.
If you are vegetarian or vegan great places to eat here. Do Uber eat my Taiwanese friend used it all the time.
Great Museum and right next to the museum don't forget to eat at the restaurant the home of where boba tea was created. If you're into boba its a must-go!

Taichung is often overlooked in favor of Taipei in the north, Kaoshiung in the south, or even the beach town of Kenting, or Hualien in the east (being close to Taroko Gorge). However, Taichung has great hiking trails, large nightmarkets, a variety of art and culture scenes, and a myriad of food and cafe locations that could keep you well occupied.
Location is super near Taichung second market!
Room was comfy and my family members loved it, super comfortable.
Good breakfast selection (included in the hotel
Price) and toilet was pretty new! TV had YouTube option! There is snacks (tea egg, ice cream, coffee, hot chocolate) available up till 12am. Would stay there again!
