Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Queen of Sheba Beach Lodge is located in Pongwe. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with a balcony, a terrace and a seating area....

Cozy and quiet room with Ocean exceptional view ! Roustique but confy, fair equiped, with a traditional Zanzibar touch. Just few steps from beach, walking on the white immaculate sand of Pongwe. Away from crowded areas, Salty water swimming pool just perfect as option to Ocean waves, in windy days. Traditional eating area with a lovely bar, nice music backsounds (by evening) and a wonderful smiling team trying to offer the best time of your life, during stay. Ask for mango or pineapple fresh juice and please try the exceptional lunch or dinner menu's made by the local kitchen Chef. At least one Michelin star from our side. If you plan to visit other island spots just ask Petra (the owner) for support. We were amazed by the tides amplitude and how nature looks in both high and Nakupenda Queen of Sheba ! Problem free....philosophy ! Hakuna Matata !

The location was perfect with the beautiful views from each angle. The breakfast and other meals were great! The serene atmosphere with plenty of space and tranquility whether on the beach, which btw had the whitest and softest sand, by the pool or in the lounge area - it was just what we needed! And the staff was on point with taking care of us and always making sure we had what we needed - best service I think we’ve ever experienced at a hotel. They gave it a very cozy homey feel :)

Located in Pongwe, a few steps from Pongwe Beach, The Island - Pongwe Lodge has accommodations with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden.

-The hotel is really small, with only six rooms, therefore the privacy was greatly valued, considering we traveled for our honeymoon. -The attention from the staff to every small detail was impressive, making sure our stance was as comfortable as possible. -The food from the restaurant was delicious, and every day they would change the breakfast and snack options. -Before arriving, Margarita responded to all of our inquiries in a timely manner and once we reached the property, Frank made sure we were always taken care of.

Located in Pongwe, a few steps from Pongwe Beach, Karibu Beach Resort provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

The first thought in this hotel was - the perfect place for a honeymoon. A picturesque beach (as on the whole island, of course, you have to take into account the tides). A beautiful, clean, well-kept hotel. Good food and drinks. A long and exciting performance during dinner. We really liked this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far away and, even at high tide, it is very shallow - you cannot swim. Kiwengwa beach, next door (10 minutes by car) is much better, more lively, with many shops and good hotels.

There is not much to do in the local area other than visit other hotel resorts. We did visit a local school to make a donation and I would advise bringing something with you to donate e.g notebooks, sweets, money

Small remote holiday village with the white sand beach but not having good beach maintenance (seaweed, some dirt on the beach). Little bit far from anything in Zanzibar (far from Stone city and airport, far from spectacular Nungwi and Paje beach). No bars, restaurants, shops and infrastructure outside the holiday resort due to remote location and low density of tourists.

At first sight you can say....what to do here ?....no shops, just some local fruits selling points, no crowded areas, less traffic than anywhere but more nature than anywhere around. It's exactly the opposite comparing with Paje. If you need a quiet, family friendly, uncrowded spot.....ask for Pongwe. And if you want to understand why I'm saying these....just go on Pongwe beach when low tide is there.

I did not visit Pongwe town.

I did not visit Pongwe town. I stayed in a luxury boutique hotel north of the town as I like a quiet holiday. The only problem was the tide leaving an unattractive expanse of muddy rocks. The hotel's pontoon helped with access to the sea when the tide was high.

The accommodation and restaurant in Weavers Lodge was outstanding and the beach was idyllic. The tide tends to be out until about 3pm (July/Aug stay) and there are some sharp rocks - if your feet are particularly fragile, water shoes are a good idea. We cycled to the next village - an enjoyable afternoon trip. Very friendly locals.

‘I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Notably, the general manager Ally looked after us and all the guests we spoke to incredibly well. The food was sublime and facilities faultless. The view from the sandy beach is postcard worthy and the best on the bay. We had stayed in Dubai for a few nights before arriving but Toa Hotel Resort surpassed our experience in the Dubai resorts and our expectations. We will be returning and I highly recommend to all.’

We had a fabulous 5 night stay at Pongwe Bay as a group of 5 adult family members. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, always going the extra mile. The 3 bedroom Bungalow we stayed in was spacious. Beds were hard but comfortable. Bushbabies came to our back patio each night and were very friendly. The breakfast food was good (not amazing by any means) however, the lunch and dinners were worth it! So delicious. The cocktails were also a big hit.

My friends and I absolutely loved staying at Pongwe Beach Hotel. Most of other guests were couples, but it was the perfect place for us to relax after a couple of weeks on safari. The property, rooms, and beach are all stunning. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming. I happened to be there on my birthday and they made it very special. Every meal was delicious!
