Grinell Glacier (inside Glacier National Park on Many Glacier entrance)was our destination. Very good and close location for this. Duck Lake Lodge is about half price from anything inside the National Park. The owner, Terri, is very accommodating. Check it out and book early.

Babb is quaint and secluded but within 10 to 30 min of East Glacier entrances and gas, restaurants, and convenience stores. There is never a lack of scenery! Babb is a much less crowded side of Glacier National Park.

The Duck Lodge could be a pleasant experience if personnel were on site and if meals were served as indicated in their website. The rooms were small and not much room to put luggage. I slept in my sleeping bag because I was not sure the sheets and blankets had been laundered. As an older traveler experienced with tent camping, I wish we had pitched our tent on the property.

Babb's main advantage is its proximity to the Many Glacier and Lake Mary entrances of Glacier National Park. There are a few restaurants in the area where you can get a good meal, but that's about it. There might be fishing or hunting in the area, but those aren't our preferred activities. Babb is also close to Browning which is the center of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. However, the museum wasn't open the day we wanted to go, and the art gallery was closed for the summer.
