A short walk to the Sumpter Valley Railway Home, this Eldorado hotel features complimentary breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is included in all guest rooms. Ease of check in (we arrived past midnight). Comfortable room that felt like good value for our money. Felt like a safe area.
Absolutely loved the views of the mountains and the valley. The city is historical and full of stories and makes you feel like you are back in the gold rush days. There are several great places and old mines to explore within a few miles and there are a lot of old buildings and houses to tour as well. In the winter there is snow and skiing close by as well as in the summer camping and outdoor activities as well. You will definitely want to visit and/or stay at the Geiser Grand Hotel downtown. The hotel has some haunted rooms if that is your thing as well. But the architecture and furnishings are just gorgeous and the food and rooms are wonderful..
Lots to see. The interpretative center was outstanding. Food was good. People very nice. However, we were there during off season hours and many things were closed. I guess that means we will have to be back 😃
An authentic and historic old West town. We were in a rush and didn't get to see them but outside the town remain the ruts created by the wagons rolling through on the Oregon Trail and they annually stage a type of marathon named "Run the Ruts"!
The town used to be quaint. We love to eat at a local steak house. Since the restaurant with the train that went around it has gone out of business- the town seems to lost its personality. The steakhouse in Haines is fabulous! The older homes in town are well kept and fun to see.
The city itself is small and has little to offer as far as restaurants, motels, and entertainment or site seeing go but the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center nearby is well worth a visit. Very interesting and makes the Oregon Trail come alive for both kids and adults
Baker City is experiencing a new life and energy. It is being revitalized and is full of great surprises. There are coffee shops, breweries, great eats and new shops popping up all over. The town is neat and clean and has a strong heart beat. So happy to have witnessed this.
Absolutely love the rustic Spanish style of this hotel Beautiful theme nice room , Comfy beds with plenty of pillows lots of chanels to watch . Good free breakfast with more choices than many of the hotels / motels that offer a breakfast with the room ! We have stayed here many times.
Fair price. Found Baker City to be friendly, interesting old town - walked around the area at night No problems. Free breakfast at their diner next door was good, energetic, fun staff - locals chose this place for breakfast.
Beds were very comfortable, great TV, perfect location, extremely quiet, smelled good, room clean. Perfect place to stay when headed through or hanging out in Baker City.
Nothing! The only thing remotely good was the poor front desk person who probably doesn’t have a lot of employment opportunities in a town like Baker City.
Beautiful historic hotel, great atmosphere, very hospitable staff
clean, good beds , down town baker city , good breakfast
Very very clean. Pet Friendly
