I just pass by here and stay one night. There is not too much in Barstow. I guess only one Route 66 museum which was closed during my day visit (it only opens from Friday to Sunday). Additionally, there is a Mojave museum where you can get 4 passport stamps for your National Park Passport.
It's a small town with very to little of nothing to do here. If u don't have a car to go to your nearest or closest town it's not worth living here or visiting here. Nothing to see of do for the children if u have young onces. Lucky I have 1 teen who's into her phone n computer more then anything so it was an easy breezy. Over all friendly people n staff for business, most area could use alot of more workers
The reviews of Barstow in general do not do it justice. We chose this hotel mainly because it is situated on Route 66 and had a nice peaceful, uneventful stay. Nice staff in the Hotel and also the local Supermarket. The Museum was very interesting and Main Street.
Stay 10 minutes west of downtown on interstate if you want the best newer hotels with chain restaurants. Or cheaply stay in the old town on Route 66 to envision the gilded age and image what was once was.
You can stay at ‘6’s’…but avoid the Barstow location …the room is rotten to the core…the smell is nauseous…if you have allergy the mold will make you sick…the shower handle needed both of us to pull out it was so rusty…we refused to take evening shower…and then, NO HOT WATER in morning…” just turn the handle more” was the response… wallpaper was peeling off…as well, the bedspread should be considered hazardous waste…that left us one sheet and 2 mushy pillows…and you can be assured that ‘special’ requests are never read, which you’ll find common at every 6 location ( even though there is a space when booking the reservation)…the room was dark and depressing…and we felt dirty when we left…the building is a relic of the past that the ‘owners’ have written off…and are trying to make as much profit before it’s condemned…and it wasn’t cheap at $105 CDN per night…avoid this location like the plague…skuzzy dank moldy smelly and degrading …low point of trip…
the vending machine for soda and water was out of order. the other one was so hot all you got was melted chocolate bar. I was on the 3rd floor and it was on the other side of the office, which is where the only ice machine was. The elevator sounded like it was going to stop between floors. Some guy was roaming around. When I went to the office there was a note that said back in 5 minutes, Both times I went. I did not feel safe there at all. After 4 hours, I left.
horrible. ghetto stank California, defined. NO wifi, although they advertize free wi-fi. 'Check-out is 11:00'.... NOPE! This is California. STATE LAW dictates that check out at ANY hotel is noon. This place will scam you in any possible way. Stay in a decent suburb of LA or plan on driving all the way to Flagstaff. There are NO options for decent lodging in between, and this is the worst of the worst.
Employees were very friendly and efficient. When I informed them that the TV in my room wouldn't turn on, by the time I got back to my room it was fixed. Their restaurant, Los Domingos, has absolutely fabulous food. They offer American dishes as well as an extensive Mexican menu. Their food was exceptional! Best food I've ever had at a hotel restaurant.
Barstow
It was as expected - rooms were clean and spacious enough, and had a coffee machine. We had a late night check in and staff was friendly. Breakfast was very basic, but that's what I expect from most hotels of this size and standard - make your own waffles, and hot eggs and sausages, along with the usual packaged oats, muffins, boiled eggs, etc.
Barstow
- Breakfast had many options, probably the best hotel in terms of option and not necessarily the quality! You can take the coffee and tea to go. - Comfy beds - Good customer service and there was a lady helping you with the breakfast - Free parking (plenty of space but does get filled fairly quickly)
Great location, close to freeway but very quiet. Best breakfast to go we had on entire vacation from California to Delaware and back. Hotel was in excellent condition and very modern.
I have stayed at this hotel several times before and like its out of town location and the fact it serves breakfast. The rooms are always comfortable and well presented.
Great pics. Not great hotel. It’s the best of the worst in Barstow. I was advised not to go out after dark lol and oh yeah- the girl at the front desk was nice.
Barstow
good comfortable bed all basic facilities were good for a budget hotel third time I’ve stayed there
Comfortable room and bed. Clean. Standard hotel microwave and mini-frig. Dog friendly.
Stayed for one night one the way to LA. Really nice and modern hotel.
