The owners, Su and Mike, could not have been more attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were outstanding as was all of the different coffees provided. A very quaint, cozy and traditional bed and breakfast. We would definitely return.

The person that checked me in was very nice, very accommodating and answered all of my questions. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was nice and warm when I got there. Considering it was 26 degrees when I got there, that was very nice.

The rooms were comfortable and clean and very modern. Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit every morning. Loved the fact we were able to walk into town. All staff were very friendly and kept the hotel running like clockwork. Views from room were amazing.

Peak Harmony is located in a beautiful valley beneath a ridgeline with many tall mountains, including Mt. Mitchell, the tallest mountain in the eastern United States. The highlight of our visit was our trip to the top of Mt. Mitchell, which included an informative stop at a small museum, a beautiful hike on the Balsam nature trail, and a wonderful lunch at the new cafe. At the very top, we visited the tomb of Elisha Mitchell, who lived two centuries ago and died on the mountain in pursuit of proof of its great height. We enjoyed the small group of Cedar Waxwings playing in the top of a fir tree eye level with the observation deck. But, the real draw for me, returning to this area almost every year, is the South Toe River, which is a great place to swim and experience fascinating wildlife in its native habitat. This year, a bald eagle was flying in the stretch of the river where I waded. We suspected that there might have been a nest nearby.

Location is perfect for those like me, who want peace and...

Location is perfect for those like me, who want peace and quiet and lots of nature. The BRP is a few miles away, and that offers even more activities, but I could've just stayed on the property and been perfectly happy, too.
