Great hotel for a weekend. Everything is clean and tidy. The beach is a one-minute walk away, souvenir shops are two minutes away, and a grocery store is five minutes away. Everything is close by. If your goal is to visit the ocean on a budget, this is a very good option. The price is very good compared to nearby hotels. There are even small tables outside each room where you can sit.

What guests said about Cayucos:

We love Cayucos!

We love Cayucos! I started coming here with my parents around 65 years ago when there weren’t as many tourists. Our grown kids love staying in Cayucos every summer now with their families. We love the Sea Shanty and Duckie’s clam chowder.

Family oriented. Good weather.

Family oriented. Good weather. At the end of 3rd street is a place (perch) to view the crashing waves and sunsets. Small enough to walk to everything yet great choices for restaurants and shopping. Nothing is over priced like some beach communities. Peer is wonderful to walk, gazing at fisherman, families playing on the sand and in the ocean, happy dogs running on the beach. Very peaceful place to vacation. Will definitely make Cayucos our first choice for family vacations.

Cayucos is a charming seaside town on the Central Coast of California. It has wonderful restaurants with different cuisine options. The hotels, inns, and restaurants are basically located on Ocean Ave where there is shopping and antique shopping. Cayucos is close to other beautiful California sites to visit, including Heart Castle, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Harmony and Cambria, and if you want to drive a tad further, there's Pismo and Avila Beaches. There's a great hike in Harmony Headlands, just minutes from Cayucos. The hike is from HWY State 1, and its basically flat, to the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean! It was wonderful!

My family has been coming to Cayucos since I was a teenager in 1983. It's always been a special family gathering spot. It's quiet and fun with the traditional Antique fair we attended every year and great food spots and coffee shops. Sunsets from the pier are our favorite.

A very small town but it has good memories for me, hence why I keep coming back. Stay away from the Old Cayucos Tavern - it’s changed! - for the worse. The opening times don’t match their advertising and the female bar keep was rude and unwelcoming. Use schooners bar across the street - great food, good live music, great selection of beers and friendly and welcoming staff.

Nice little town with a great beach and pier.

Nice little town with a great beach and pier. Several good places places to dine. Some really great antique shops in town. We had dinner at Duckies which was quite good. There is a really nice t-shirt, sweatshirt shop called Cayucos Collective where they do their own stenciling.

This hotel was very good: it looked clean and nicely renovated, had good parking, the room was spotless, and the staff—especially the very friendly man who helped us at check-in—were excellent; breakfast was not included, but that is understandable for this type of location, so overall we had nothing to complain about.
